Some people see anything coming from women "liberation and independence" and anything from men as entitlement.

But i think this only apply on far left feminists not the majority.

I swapped the genders and changed "short height" with "small boobs", even if there are still a lot of nah and nta, it isn't difficult to see how people are way more upset and angry at me than the original post. In the original post they are telling the op that preferences are fine and some are even calling the guy an asshole because he didn't advertised his height in his profile. In my post? Sure there are nah and nta but they are accompabied by "you are shallow", "you are dumb", "you did that girl a favor" and so on. In the original post who called op shallow was downvoted. In my post? Upvoted.

Mine was a little sample, but the double standard is there and is obvious.

I don't doubt this happens to some people, but I think we need better evidence if we're to conclude that it's a systemic issue. I strongly suggest that, to the extent that this does happen, it's part of the whole pursuer/pursued dynamic that's so prevalent.

I’m a woman, and this is definitely a thing. Very few women are told they’re shallow assholes, especially by their fellow women. I’ve seen countless women air their grievances or even mock men for having the ‘nerve’ to ask them out with statements like “Omg he’s so old/fat/ugly, and he thought I’d give him a chance LOL.” Plenty of women will pat them on the back with statements akin to “You go girl! Don’t settle for anything less than what you want and deserve!”

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think anyone is shallow for having preferences (we all do), but I do think women need to stop calling out men, while celebrating women, for having them. I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s totally fine. More women need to get that they can’t look like Mama June and only expect Jason Momoa lookalikes to be into them.

I haven't seen this at all in relation to turning people down. I do see it in regard to stated preferences. It has always seemed weird to me that some women and even some men have an issue with guys liking beautiful women. We are objectifying women if we say we don't like fat chicks. I haven't seen a women scolded for stating she doesn't like any attribute a man could have, fat, short, bald w/e. It's perfectly understandable if you aren't attracted to them, but for some reason men are just meant to overlook this. Doesn't make sense.

And it’s considered sexist for a man to prefer a woman who can cook, which makes no sense. I sure as hell am not going to do all the cooking! And many assume a guy wanting a woman who can cook means the guy will never cook and treat his SO as a personal chef, which isn’t the case. I mentioned this double standard on another subReddit and it go shut down for “sexism”.
