What do you mean by a unified movement. To solve men's issues we need to solve some problems. A lot of these problems are created by capitalism. We cannot elevate Men without going into post capitalism. There are also other problems that many conservative ideas are just misandrist. Traditionalism and feminism are 2 sides of the same coin. I agree there should be a unified movement, but the movement should be focused on elevating Men rather than pursuing ideological interests

This is for everything, not just men's rights. Avoid engaging with the extreme perspective and try to see the best possible view of the alternative perspective

Lot of people pick a tribe, then adopt the related beliefs.

Some people pick beliefs, and join whatever tribe seems to represent more of those

Even fewer people actually have principles, and support whatever side agrees with those principles at that time, on a that issue, then whatever side agrees with those principles at another time on another issue.

I would say that it's even rarer to find someone who has actually thought about those principles deeply.

Generally, it's a lot of effort to reach the last category. Even people who are in that category only are so for a fraction of their beliefs, because time is limited, issues are numerous, and life has to go on and decisions have to be made Even if you haven't had time to consider things properly.

As long as you keep that in mind, there's not much behaviour that should be too surprising in political discourse.

When you are in places where people hold impopular opinions relative to eheir social circle, you increase the chances to meet people in rarer categories. When you have to quickly pick an opinion, without too much thought, you generally go for what will cause the least friction to your social circle, and default to setting 1.

Note though that just because people have long thought about their opinions doesn't mean they are right in their conclusion. Flat earthers might have spent quite a bit of thought on their opinion, but if you aren't properly equipped to think about those issues, you might end up completely wrong.

If an opinion is highly popular, it might be because it serves a purpose, and it might be a good idea to consider that purpose, or to simply adopt it because it might just be the safest bet. So tribalism serves a purpose, sadly.

And there is a huge issue in education, which is that we teach kids that being wrong is bad and not knowing the answer is just as bad.

We should encourage kids to admit when they don't know. The wisest position should be to say "I don't know" when you don't and "I don't know enough about that topic to have an informed opinion", so as to encourage those attitudes in people.

Sadly, this could also tremendously increase the impact of the people who believe they know enough to have an informed opinion when they don't. The famous Dunning Kruger effect.
