Fatherlessness and Motherlessness

One theory is that positive females role models in positions of authority are basically everywhere in society, especially for children.

They're your teachers and your babysitters. Basically everyone in the childcare industry is a woman. So if you don't have a mother, you still have plenty of female influences in your life.

For many children though, their father is their only male authority figure. So if you loose him, you've got nothing. A boy without a father lives in a world where everything has a subtle bias against him, with no refuge at home, nobody to talk to about girls or puberty, and stuff like that. Making it uniquely an issue for boys without fathers.

Fatherlessness is also way more common for a variety of reasons, not least of which is due to the family court bias, so these issues are more widespread and relevant to a larger number of people.

That's not to say that fathers aren't important for their daughters, or that mothers aren't important, but it's not much of a stretch to see why people talk about fatherlessness in boys so much.

My understanding is that children thrive with 2 parents. Regardless of whether it's 2 moms, 2 dads, a dad and a stepmom, etc. The issue we call "fatherlessness" is really the problem with a child not having 2 parents.

It's sort of a misnomer,l. It's only named that way because in most cases where a child has one parent removed, the alienated parent is the father.

Simple things you can do:

Post the stats below on social media

Draft a letter with the stats below. Email your local politicians etc. They only know what they are told. Politicians are generally quite clueless.... the world is too big, how would they know about everything. They rely on reports, summary sheets, lobby groups etc telling them what to do
