Where do you stand on this? There are people even in MRM who don't accept that FGM is equivalent to MGM, who insist that FGM is on another level.

(The Right is very much against men's rights here. The Right believes that FGM is way worse than MGM, primarily because the Right sees FGM as Islamic/3rd world "barbaric" custom that should never ever be compared with Western circumcision because this would be "cultural relativism"!

The Left criticizes circumcision more than the Right does. But since the Left believes that women always have it worse, the Left is not willing to accept that it is in any way similar to FGM.)

Just like with the issue of domestic violence, pretty much every serious scholar who has done research into this issue believes that mainstream (ie. feminist) view of this is false, and that FGM and MGM are equivalent in all regards: Brian Earp, Sami Aldeeb, Hanny Lightfoot-Klein, Richard Shweder, Fuambai Ahmadu, Kirsten Bell, Bettina Shell Duncan, etc.
