I find the 'contributions in bulletin form' of reddit isn't the most conducive format for more colloquial interactions. Is an official Discord server not on the table for consideration? Sometimes I just wanna talk about dating, or rant about sexism on random Netflix shows I pick up, or talk about completely unrelated things and just make new friends, but with people I can feel confident over them having a good capacity for empathy.

I wouldn't even mind (..would actually prefer) if it was pretty heavily moderated, like this sub, as long as the moderation also isn't too biased. I think any unidirectionally focused space for gender discussion carries the unfortunate risk of attracting misandrists/misogynists, so good moderation and reporting would be preferable, if it was a thing. Really, any gender discussion space, actually..
