Gonna play devil's advocate here, for maritime disasters as a whole, the Titanic seems to be an exception to these cases where women and children survived more than men. In other cases, it's reversed. I would like to be proven wrong, though. Also, did they still attempt to assist women children in the other maritime disasters?

I find things like this interesting because it shows you that humanity is just a species like everything else. Women are the most vital for continued survival of the species so they’re prioritized even above children. I think that way of rationalization will continue to fade over time but it’s fascinating how present it still is even in modern times.
