Imagine if during the US civil war both the northern and southern armies decided to only send black people to fight ? what if they only send catholics ? what if they only send only homosexuals ? all history books will say it was a bigoted move. but because they both sent only men we don't see it as bigoted. around the world there are 45 country with male only compulsory military service. nobody see it as sexist oppression. neither Amnesty nor Human Rights Watch talk campaign against it !

The UN marked 25 of this month as the "International Day to end Violence Against Women" despite the fact that all genders are victims of domestic! you hear politicians and social activists use slogans like "no excuse for violence against women" .. no one see the sexism in that.

The sexist oppression and discrimination against men and boys is so normalized that no one see it as sexist oppression, this reminded me of anti semitism in my country Algeria. the word "jew" here is used as an insult, no body see that as bigotry because it's the mainstream. just like fish don't notice the water around them. the people who use the term "anti semitism" are accused of "zionist propaganda" just like men's rights advocate who use the term "misandry" are accused of being male supremacists and being far right.
