The left replaced religion with wokeness and then used it to bludgeon people just like the right did/does because they wanted to be authoritarian assholes and feel superior.

...for me to outsource all of my issues to sole white supremacy is to give it too much power, and for me to outsource all of my issues as a woman to men is a little bit too disempowered for me. Just as much as women are oppressed by patriarchy men are oppressed by patriarchy and I can't not see that.

I'm always skeptical that I don't want what I'm saying to come across as those Generation X, baby boomers, who are talking about wokeness in a very critical way because they are sad that they no longer have their time when they can say things with impunity. Where they can be racist and make homophobic jokes, that's not it.

Wow. So I like to think of myself as being against much of what created our present social reality and the boomers are an essential part of that, but there is a failure here to realize why that impunity was so very important for the boomer generation, for the Vietnam protests, and for the universities of the day. It is really jarring to see someone talk about not being reactionary and having empathy and then apply it so badly and take such a malicious interpretation of this. That impunity was crucial to the left of 40 years ago and should remain crucial today.

Once you understand yourself it's very easy to understand everyone else, so easy, because we're actually not that different. We're actually painfully quite ordinary.

The headline should say "with a sense of". It is not like those people are actually morally superior.
