I've seen this firsthand when hiring for work "in the trenches." All the stuff about prioritizing merit first and only using underrepresented traits as a tiebreaker is bullshit.

This is so obvious, it is the premier form of anti-unionism that corporations utilize. It is a way to maintain the status quo while claiming that the status quo is changing. They are just using a different demographic of the ruling class to maintain said status quo.
