I strongly you don't just buy the most expensive items. Make sure to research as well. One can build a great gaming pc for around 500-600$. I'm not saying buy on the low price end but make sure you're not paying 3x the price for something because it has a fancy name.

Good parts list man, beats my PC thats 7 years old. But I dont play any newer games that need 4k resolution or anything so who cares. I'm still running first gen i7 with 6 cores, 12 GB ram Triple channel, and 970GTX. Yeah if my mobo or cpu fry Ill be building a whole new rig since those parts are impossible to find now. I'm playing heavily modded Fallout New Vegas and having fun with it. After that I'll probably get Witcher 3.

I highly suggest at some point in the future you go for a 144+hz monitor.

Not so much for the gaming, but for the much smoother desktop experience. After using one for awhile, you'll notice how choppy the mouse cursor/web page scrolling feels when you go back to a 60 hz monitor.

I can't wait until they make 4k 144+hz monitors, and GPUs strong enough to run them without having to use SLI. Never use SLI by the way, it causes way more headaches than it is worth.

Anyway, nice build. I use that same SSD and the computer boots lightning fast.

Reading through this thread made me look back at my future PC build parts list. I've been looking it over every so often and every time I look at it, I think, "I'll just wait a bit longer to see what comes out."

At this point, I don't think I'll ever end up building my new PC this year despite the fact that I've bought an awesome PC ( a Lian Li DK-04 ) case last year just so I can get a new awesome PC build happening...

This is exactly what I did a few weeks ago. Having no responsibilities (as in girlfriend maintenance) helped me save up a lot of money to be diverted into my hobbies and other investments including those involving improving myself. Been taking some online courses.

There is no better feeling than to be able to work for yourself and be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Sometimes I look at my 3k monster and think about all the shitty holiday travels and gimmicky restaurants I would've spent that money into if I was still engaged. It's kind of relaxing.

And btw finances are growing steadily.
