Excluding widows, single moms have demonstrated one of two serious character flaws:

They are a terrible judge of character, and allowed themselves to be impregnated by a man that wasn't going to stick around and help raise his children.
They willfully disintegrated a family with a man who would have stuck around, despite the massive disadvantage doing so imposes on their own children.

Both equally unacceptable liabilities, because you're the one who will inherit responsibility for her poor decisions both past and future.

Went out with a single mom recently. Didn't have any expectations. Usual story. Kid not planned. Moved in with the dad. When baby was 6 months old she caught the dad banging the babysitter. The kicker was when I asked the daughter (now 3) where she slept she said 'Mommy's bed!' Oh hell no. Even funnier is the dad now lives with the babysitter so mom gets to see her regularly.
