Why should I spend every day miserable and hating life just so other people won't be sad? I really don't fucking get how people just get up every day and go for it. My life isn't even that bad, but I'd rather be asleep than doing anything else at any given time of the day. I spend all my time daydreaming about how different my life should be if I was born rich or made better choices. Even the tiniest of inconveniences in my day to day is enough to make me think about pulling the plug.

I'm getting closer to 40 now, and if there's not some drastic change in my life pretty soon, I'm super fucking gone. There's no way I'm getting old in this shit world.

I'll leave just a reading suggestion for everyone. The Myth of Sisyphus, by Albert Camus, is a very powerful book. It will give you a whole new perspective about life. I read it just once about 5 years ago, but it feels like it became a part of myself I will never forget.

I think the hardest thing to swallow is the fact that I, WE, ALL OF US, were lied to.

Besides that, the hardest thing to face is the fact that, on an SMV scale, I'm pretty much worthless and invisible to probably 95% of women and 99.99999% invisible to anything over a 6. I'm smart, can be charismatic, I'm well read, electroniclly and mechanically inclined and I've done well for myself financially. But I'm no Chad, for sure.

The boldface lie of "if you're nice, caring, deferential, funny and smart, some woman will find you and love you and complete you one day. Don't give up hope," fucking HUUUURRRTTTSSSS! But, the truth is still better than the plantation, boys. Trust me.

I don't think I can ever completely get over the rage and the disappointment I have for the way society has fucked me over socially. But it's nice to know the truth, finally. So I guess that's something.

I look back on all of my LTRs, ONSs and my general dealings with women and it wasn't a complete waste of time. I experienced it. But had I known then what I know now about RP, Game Theory and MGTOW, I would have been way smarter and fixed a lot of shit that limits my options today.

Now I just don't have the drive or the will to really change. I'm MGTOW kind of by default. I accept it.

It's an epiphany you reach after some time not living the lie. You can absolutely be happy and the opposite of the tradcon standard you were raised to believe in.

Emotional happiness.
Intellectual stimulation.
Sexual desires.
Human interaction.

These main four are what we've been told to expect from women. The truth of the matter is we don't need them for any of these things anymore. We're not isolated to a farm with one woman to talk to all day. We're not isolated to organic pussy. Our human interaction has never been more accessible whatever one may think of the quality in it. LTRs are a failure in the modern age. The list goes on and on.

To me it comes down to two main factors that we are not raised to consider.

Risk assessment
When is enough enough

LTRs are more risky than they've ever been. Worse, most LTRs are not providing enough in any of the aforementioned needs. LTRs produce unhappy men (and women) because they spend 10+ hours apart growing relationships with other people. They don't have sex regularly and they don't talk. It's like getting water for the price of milk.

My case for MGTOW

Emotional happiness can be a minefield. It's probably the hardest goal to obtain for the newly-freed mind. Your happy you is like a tree with many roots buried in the earth. All the connections you made to the world need to change. You need to grow in a new direction. You need to discard the old you and what made that you happy. You need to find happiness in your new life. This is a tall order. It means not having women, not having some friends, not engaging in the activities seen as LTR timesinks. You have to recognize what you aren't doing so you can know what you aren't getting. Something is in there that you need to be happy. Once you know what it is you can substitute it. Of course this comes back to the other 3.
Intellectual stimulation has never been more accessible. The sheer amount of literature and entertainment we have at our disposal is never ending. It may have been true decades ago that the company of a woman would keep a man sane. Today it's the exact opposite. Between books, shows and gaming you have tons of things to chew on and tons of things to look forward to and to think about.
Sexual desires have never been hard to figure out. Between prostitutes and sex dolls it's never been a better time to be a sexually active man. When you can buy a sex toy that looks, feels and fucks like a submissive woman your sexual needs are covered. Think a fleshlight with far more handles. While it may be a toy of luxury I'd argue it has far more worth than that for your average guy. Sex dolls and porn are different. This cannot be stressed enough. While porn will offer a visual approximation the doll offers weight, touch, smell and even taste if you prefer. I'd do porn if I were broke. If I had the money to buy a doll I'd buy the doll.
Human interaction can be difficult if you don't push yourself. This means socializing wherever the opportunity presents itself. Work, school, online video games and forums like these are great places to find like-minded people to talk to. Not always about MGTOW just whatever you like. The trap for us is thinking we have no place in those conversations. We do. Again it's not always about us. You can draw a lot of happiness just listening to someone else talk about what's on their mind. When you think about it that's what we do here. Reciprocity generally follows and you may eventually call these people friends and look forward to time together.

Long read I know but the tl;dr is that it takes time and effort to deprogram. You have to be committed to it and sometimes do things you don't want to do like make new friends or consider a new avenue for stimulation.

I had it the opposite way, I realized there was nothing wrong with my way of thinking and society is really trying to push me into a bad deal. Id like to take the responsibility of kids, but I don't like a disobiendient wife that fucks around behind my back and got all the legal power in the world - that's sadly something you cannot protect yourself against in a marriage today, because you have no power as a man, except the "power" to hand off all of your shit if it goes wrong.

Money triggered me to go MGTOW. Since finishing college, I've enjoyed working on my career. However I can't think of anything worse than having my money going towards anything but funding my own freedom.
