That's quaint. Though I wanna say cute

What is peach doing every mario game? Now what is Mario doing every game?
Lol
[–]deepfatthinker924 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Mario...representing the male populace for sure..And peach...yeah that's sad.
[–]I_ysk33 points34 points35 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ah, so that "male privilege" must be the difficulty points multiplicator then... better rewards for more complicated or risky endeavours. I like this game.
[–]Terminarch29 points30 points31 points 8 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
I've always been the Dark Souls type.
[–][deleted] 28 points29 points30 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
There is nothing special about you. You're just another Chosen Undead among the thousands before you who failed to link the flame. But you succeed anyways because you keep on persevering when all the others quit and went hollow.
Man I love that game. Great life lesson.
[–]CursingWhileNursing4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
To be honest, I never really understood what I was doing in the Dark Souls games or even why.
As I understand it, the only way to actually "win" or do the right thing at least in the first game is not to play or to not do what you are supposed to do.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Dark Souls has two endings but there is only way to to beat the game and see either of them defeat the last boss Gwyn
Ending one is technically "doing what you're supposed to do" by linking the flame and taking over Gwyn's job
Ending two is the "Fuck it I'll do what I want" ending by walking away after beating Gwyn and leaving the fire unkindled thus ushering in the Age of Darkness
[–]CursingWhileNursing0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Ah, thanks for the explanation!
But as I see it, ending two is more or less a good thing, because this is in fact the natural way of things and the age of darkness is nothing more than a transition, while doing what you are supposed to do is nothing more than further perverting and warping the world?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes good observation. Some fan speculation is that Kaathe is actually good and Fraampt is evil (or at least a fool) because continuing to link the fire and break the curse of the undead is itself perpetuating the cycle of the undead and keeping the Gods alive who allow the cycle. The Age of Darkness would actually lead to the end of the Gods' rule (perhaps also their immortality? I haven't brushed up on the lore in a while)
[–]CursingWhileNursing0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
the lore
Well, I must say that this is one of the things about Dark Souls I am not too enthusiastic about. Not the lore itself, but the way it is conveyed.
I love when parts of the lore can be found in the world, I love it when the world is telling a story or parts of the story iitself. Which is why I love the Fallout games (Fallout 4 not included) so much.
But Dark Souls is going waaay to far for my liking in this regard. It pretty much tells you nothing outright, but with little snippeds littered all over the place and quite often without a connection. A lot of people seem to love particularly that, but I don't. Having to read item descriptions in the hope of being able to piece together another tiny fraction of the story is something I perceived as quite frustrating.
But this is only how I personally see this, of course.
good observation
I am not even sure if I can call it an actual observation. To me, it was more like a gut feeling. "Hell, I don't want to do that. It feels like pushing this sick world only further into damnation and perversion. What ever will come if I just walk away, it can only be better." was what I thought.

I want to be a dark souls player so bad, I try and try and try and I can't even make past the first boss. I get it to half health then it turns into some braided hair dragon that just swoops my ass. (dark souls 3)
[–]cypresstalker2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Personally, I'd rather listen to podcasts and play Skyrim. I don't play games to get pissed off, I go to work for that. But i definitely appreciate the challenge of those games. They're just not for me
[–]TheLastHero70 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Its funny because Dark Souls doesn’t piss me off at all. Even when I’m dying repeatedly on a boss, everything is fair and it’s my fault I died. If I want to get pissed of while gaming I go to league of legends or something.
[–]TheLastHero71 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I’m nearing the end of my first play through an and the first boss was the hardest for me so far. Just because you don’t know the mechanics or anything. If you beat that first guy you’ll be good for a long while imo.
In the first phase dodge it’s attacks by rolling forward and to the right then get in a swing, then roll again to dodge his next attack. Back off really far to heal up, but don’t play mid range. You want to be on top of him the whole time.
In the second phase use your fire bombs that you got in the area right before him. (The lower area that drops off the cliff). He’s weak to fire in the second phase. After that just rush him and do your best to dodge attacks.
[–]house_monkey1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Didn't ever tried using bombs, thanks will try!
[–]TheLastHero71 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No problem. Just be careful that they don’t come back when you’ve used them, so you may need to create a new character if you need them back.
[–]house_monkey1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Damn, that's good to know.
[–]ArtoriusXv18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
We don't choose though, some unknowing twat does. If I knew there was an easy mode I'd have concentrated real hard as a fetus and become a grill.

trick question: are women oblivious to this or do they deny it?
[–]Zephyrium57 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They deny it

I’ve had average looking and ugly women admit they have it easier in dating and hook ups. One girl said she doesn’t watch porn or masturbate when Shes horny she just goes and have sex. I said this is the primary difference between modern men and women.

I started reading into the stories of NDE(near death experiences) seems that after we cross over, talk to whatever or whoever that runs things over there, it seems that we have the choice to either stay or come back to life(I personally am not a fan of reincarnation.....especially coming back to the same small speck in the universe).
Easy mode might be the tempting choice.....but do I really want to come back as a woman?
[–]MGTOW-Balance2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
if reincarnation is real, then knowing what i know now i would never want to come back as a female
[–]MrMelbourne2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Life for women is only "hard" if:
a) They are born ugly.
b) They are born particularly stupid.
c) They consistently make poor choices.
d) Any combination of a, b or c.

The sad part is I only enjoy games when I play them on the hardest difficulty. coincidence? I think not
[–]SpinPlates3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Should be a 3rd option with a fat girl for "nightmare"
Let's be real here. Ugly/Obese women have it hard as fuck.

[–]SpinPlates0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
My point was ugly/obese meh usually have the drive to make enough money for themselves to have a decent life.
You rarely see obese women with money. They usually just get picked up by some middle class simp.
[–]ConfidentHoverhander2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Let's be real here, that's absolute bullshit. Countless of experiments have been made that prove this isn't true. What about that guy that photoshopped a pig nose to an obese "woman" with chest hair and still had matches and simps lining up easy. A fat, unattractive woman still has more success than your average guy does. The society tells us women are still beautiful no matter the size and yet guys are invisible unless 7/10 at least.

[–]Chadattack10 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
As hard as an average looking guy i will guess. Go to tinder with a profile of a complitely average guy and a landwhale...See who gets more attention and interest.

exactly! i broke it down in my comment above to ArcanineTheGrey

Ugly female: normal
Attractive male: hard
Ugly male: nightmare mode
[–]peacejudah -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I beg to differ, not having a wife and kids makes life so much easier for a man. If you make them 2 mistakes in this day and age then yes, your life will be difficult.
[–]ArcanineTheGrey-2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Maybe I'm in the wrong place for this, but can we maybe admit it's easier to be an attractive guy than a fat girl?
[–]MGTOW-Balance11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
wrong!
a landwhale can still have guys buying/giving her shit. especially nowadays where a lot of simps "love fat bitches"
also, a landwhale can always lose weight and she would have even more guys buy / give her shit
and lastly, most bitches don't have shit of value, and they're cheap, the most good looking guys will receive is pussy, which = no value
