It was Slavoj Zizek's point as well: Imagine if Leo had survived; A working class man with an upperclass woman? Imagine what their life would have been like? Soooo romantic? Yeah, right. Dude comes home from work and get's nagged to death for not living up to her standards.... So Hollywood had to kill him in order to save the romance. That's why Leo's character had to die. Even Hollywood understands hypergamy, they just pretend not to see it.

It's a perfect chick flick. A woman gets a wealthy man to pay for her trip to America. She gets an adventurous man to broaden her horizons (i.e. fuck her) and sacrifice himself for her. Then she meets a wealthy guy who helps her indulge in her adventurous life of horse riding and flying whom she doesn't even remember on her deathbed. Basically men existed to give her an amazing life.

LOL Every man watching this movie pretty much knows this was what James Cameron was hinting at, lbr here. It's only the women who swallow that "OMG if he got on the plank would have sunk and both of them would have drowned, and you don't want that do you?!" tripe that constitutes the "official" explanation as to why they couldn't both share.

The door is a good analogy for the marital home. The door represents the house. She is having it and he isn't. But he must work 30 years thinking it is his and sacrifice himself for it.

Before he hits the bottom she will be sucking Chad off and he can watch through the keyhole.

I assume you people didn't notice/haven't seen the movie in a while. If you go back and watch, you'll see that both of them try to get on the door but it flips because of their weight. Then, in classic early 20th-century fashion, Jack follows the 'women and children first' rule and lets her survive. However, I've seen this first hand in other contexts and completely agree.
