In Swedish the word for "married" is "gift", Which literally means poison.

In Chinese the sign for good 好 "hao3" is the sign for woman and child next to each other. The sign for male 男 "nan2" is the signs for field and strength together. Makes you think...

Another hilarious thing about the Chinese language is that while feminism in western countries pushed for gender neutral pronouns, Chinese always pronounced the word for him/her the same "ta1" (but spelled different 他 / 她.) So naturally Chinese feminism are for fighting for separate pronunciations instead of a common one 😂.

Speaking about gender neutral pronouns, the Swedish version is "hen" as in "hen house". Another suggestion was "hin", but it lost due to its similarities to "hin håle", which is an old Swedish word for Satan.
