TL; DR - they are self-centered trash that expect everyone else to "get over it already" regardless of what "IT" is.

I honestly didn't cry. I felt the pain and heartbreak but I've become numb. I've heard too many similar stories of GOOD DECENT MEN having to "suck it up". John (from the story) is a piece of garbage. To have been a friend, to NOT have told Sarah that walking her down the isle is the 2nd ultimate betrayal.... piece of garbage. See....I understand both son & dad's perspective.

Son: dad was THE ULTIMATE.....life is never the same when you lose someone THAT amazing. All son has is awesome memories and the appreciation that he got to know dad.

Dad: John comes in, takes the cherished wife AND daughter. Everything dad did was for his family - especially the women he provided for.

They have absolutely ZERO perspective on loyalty/devotion. Daughter is in a mental hospital (where most of them belong). Good! Something tells me she'll move on juuuuuuuusssssttttt fine - they seem to have that amazing ability.

Dad's actions were not out of spite or pettiness...they were out of pain. He couldn't bare to look at her because....in his mind....he lost her. The pain of that loss was simply too much to bare.

I gathered from that tragic story is from the Dads perspective not only was his wife stolen by his best friend John. John also stole his daughter as well. From being Daddys little girl to the girl aspiring to follow her biological father foot steps, to John getting his step daughter hired at his firm.

I can see why the father had written his daughter off. I would too if I were in that man's shoes.

His dad got to keep his house and contact with all his sons, compared to some horror stories I've read this one was pretty mild and he got off quite lightly. No one got killed and his daughter albeit temporarily has been smacked in the face with consequences of her actions. Hopefully it'll serve as a wakeup call to this idiot but seeing how his wife just woopsied and got pregnant right after a large inheritance tells me he's in for a rectally inserted red pill.
