TL;DR I caught the manager stealing and got fired when I reported it.

So that was in November of last year and despite good advice about taking legal action, I moved on with my life. The very next day I applied at a competing business (closer to my house) and got offered pretty much the same job I had (but with a little more money in a more fun environment).

There are a lot of opinionated women where I work. The manager who hired me wanted me to fire another girl as my first order of business (for reasons?), but the corporate office stepped in and asked me to try to salvage her. Big shit show, but I did it. (She's actually my best salesman, so I'm glad she stayed). The manager decided to quit over it, and some personal issues (after a decade at that job) and today I was offered the positon. The corporate folks love me, because I get a lot done and have a lot of good ideas.

I sent back the offer almost as quickly as I got it, for negotiation. I'm kicking myself a bit because they immediately gave me everything I asked for (which tells me I could have asked for more). In any event, that firing ended up to be great for me. The job pays great, perks are great, I get the hours I want and my bosses are on the other side of the country and pretty much trust me to run things how I see fit.

So I have more time, more money, less stress and things are pretty good. I appreciate the support I got from this community. And although this is a rarely posting alt, I read and comment among you daily. Cheers brothers.
