Until recently, I've been friends with a woman I've known for ten years.

Over the past few years, her behaviour started getting odd. She demanded an open marriage with her husband and eventually left him for someone ten years her junior.

She dated him for two years before breaking up with him because he had a go-nowhere job.

He quits his job and finds a new one as an exterminator.

She tells me she's ecstatic that he has a real job with a future that makes good money.

I point out to her that being an exterminator is hard, hard work. I send her several gov't studies on that profession and how these workers use deadly chemicals every day, they have shortened life expectancies, a large increase in health problems, etc.

Her response, "Why can't you be happy that he finally has a job that allows him to give me the kind of life style I want."

Me: Assuming he takes you back - which he probably will.

Her: Why wouldn't he take me back?

Me: Because you broke up with him because he didn't make enough money. And he might (and SHOULD) feel that you are forcing him to take a high-risk, soul crushing job that will cause him to die early. (No offense meant to anyone here who works in this field.)

Her: Well YOU are fat and ugly and disgusting and you are going to die young!!

Since we were texting, I put down my phone and gave it an hour for her to cool down. When I looked at my messages, she was still tearing into me (even though I hadn't replied in an hour). At that point I just blocked her.

No matter how many times I see this kind of behaviour, this demand from women that men do whatever it takes to give them the lifestyle they want, I am still shocked at the depth of entitlement and the complete disregard for the health and well being of the men around them that women exhibit.
