We are three brothers in our family, me being the youngest. I'm 21, my elder brother is 25 and the eldest is 30. My eldest brother had gone through an ugly divorce after his wife left him for his boss. He was surprisingly very understanding of it, and his wife even tried a cuckold kind of relationship for sometime but that eventually didn't work out.

I'll be honest, I thought my brother was extremely naive but then I respected his decision. My faith in love and relationships was already withering away gradually since then, but I still saw some hope. I saw the mgtow sub as just some losers who wallow in self pity over their failed relationships and their inability to boss up in life(Just being honest, no hate intented. My views have changed since then). Last year, my elder brother(the second one in the family) got married to the love of his life, his highschool love, they have been in a relationship for more than 10 years! However, yesterday she told him that she wanted divorce. What happened was that we live in a developing country, so many people go abroad and settle down. So my brother had a citizenship of Australia, and his wife wanted to marry him for the citizenship. She had her own interest, and she even has a boyfriend who she was meeting behind his back. The boyfriend is too broke to pay for her, so she was basically using my brother. My brother never protested, but once he came to know and raised his voice for the first time, she was like I'll complain to the police if you even touch me and basically called him a small dick loser.

Which brings me to my dilemma. I have a loving girlfriend and she is genuinely a great person and very honest with me. However, the experiences of my brothers and the general negativity within my family is stopping me from taking the next step. I am just 21 so I still have time, but I eventually want to marry my girlfriend. I feel so ashamed and guilty for having to doubt her for no fault of her own, but how do I make sure that I'm marrying the right person? Thanks.
