Are they not as relevant as they once were and that is their complaint? Most movies are crap. Most things produced are crap. The 80/20 rule is in full effect across the board. Most movies are obviously made for couples, meaning the female. Most movies are crap and mental programming.

Deadpool 2 was highly entertaining, and Sicario 2 was great, and people complained that there wasn't a strong female lead in Sicario. Like in the first Sicario...Blunt's character was a strong female lead according to critics. Which isn't how I remember that movie, she got her ass kicked pretty regularly and got played by (lol) men who were more intelligent than her.

Most movies pander to women. Where the strong tall rich handsome successful male ends up with what is presented as an "average" female.

Some contemporary movies can be absolutely amazing. Fucking loved Blade Runner 2049 and Ex Machina. Then again cyberpunk films are the shit.

Also it's not just movies, it's shows too, just look at The Walking Dead, first 2 seasons has 2 attractive guys fighting over an ugly, annoying and just simply horrible woman.

Then later on it has another ugly, annoying and horrible woman acting like a badass all the time despite the fact she's entirely useless.

Movies are mostly crap now, and the theater experience has become tedious and unbearable. While 90% of everything has always been crap, at least at one time it was enjoyable crap or, at a minimum, not annoying. I haven't been in a theater in about six years, and it's highly unlikely anything released will inspire me to break that streak. To the degree that I consume video, it's mostly tv shows and youtube channels.

I've never been into movies, and was never big on tv. I had cable 20 plus years ago when I lived with parents but just me, I've never had cable. Shitty shows and ads. Especially ads. Too many effing ads. I'd rather watch a blank wall than watch ads.

Ads are starting to, hell already have started to ruin the net for me. Website with click bait after click bait. Sites with 50 "click next" when they used to and could easily fit the whole article or all the pics on one web page.

Greedy fucks destroying it.

I agree with you completely.

In addition, I believe movies are made not just to please women but to pussify men who will go along with it.

They will have to tell their wife/girlfriend they enjoyed the movie after it's over. Once they say it out their mouth, they hear it in their own voice, they'll believe it even if it's just a little.

Then the next movie with the tough chick who beat up all the men who are at least twice her size each PLUS the one HUGE guy that would take 3 men to take down.

He loved that one too.

There are a few gems from time to time. Infinity wars was a great movie even though they are probably going to retcon everything in the next movie.

I don't know about that. Because of streaming and smartphones, movie attendance is down. In response, suits only make movies that are most likely to sell. Transformers made a billion dollars on the strength of "ooooo pretty."

The hope is in the smaller or independent style films these days. A couple recent picks- Ingrid Goes West, The Witch, Split, Logan, Blade Runner 2049 (although I never saw Blade Runner 2-2048, so it was hard following the plot.)

Hollywood is dying and they are trying to save money by hiring more women. Women don't have any good ideas so they take the old good ideas (created by men) and just swap genders. They just don't seem to realize that nobody is going to the movie theaters anymore and they seem content to just let that avenue die. Let 'em die I guess.

Yeah, i would say so. I made the mistake of trying to watch that moive "7 days in entabe" and it just sucked ass. There is only 1 10 min action scene in the whole movie so is it really awesome? Is it 50 guys getting killed by israli forces in awesome ways? Nope. Not at all. Half of the scene is spent going back and forth between the raid and the guy in command''s gf's play (as in theater play) and almost the entire scene has music playing and no one says anything except for a min. Literally the only action in the whole movie and it shows a freaking play.

When I watch a movie trailer now, I can decide by the end if I'll spend money. 99% of movies these days are just "CGI Vomit" and needless, gratuitous gore. I call it the "Transformers Effect" where movies with these overblown budgets look like shit with all their CGI, and yet, I can sit down and watch Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Aliens and they STILL look better with modeling and practical effects as opposed to the blue/green screen. Sad, isn't it?

Sure, last year you had the usual Marvel garbage, another Transformers, Star Whores and so on, but you also had Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri; The Florida Project; Good Time; It Comes at Night.

Don't be the cinematic equivalent of those idiot chuunibyou 14-year-old boys who mourn the music of their generation being bad, when in truth more variety and quality exist now than ever before thanks to the far-reaching proclivities of the Internet, and the ever-shrinking costs of recording. It says more about how lazy you are than about the quality of the films themselves, as you clearly are unwilling to go on your own artistic journey, and would rather that Hollywood simply hand you good films on a silver plate.

Women are almost 50% of the audience + more than half the men are blue pilled cucks. It's easy to sell them unearned feminized bilge and get 75% of the audience, then it is to just sell men alone.

Also men are a diminishing audience. Most don't spend on movies when they can watch at home, compounding the feminized pandering.

It sucks, but it's just the market working.
