How is being in a relationship a success, and how is being free a defeat? A big part of MGTOW is defining your own success and almost all men here wouldn’t consider being around a woman constantly as a “win”. It sounds like you need a hobby.

OP what you not taking into account is that MGTOW is really the ascension after you take the RedPill. Yeah you can spit game, navigate shit tests, and slay pussy. But there comes a point where the novelty of that becomes mundane. Being a part of MGTOW severely opened my male mind of how temporary my life is, how much emotional punches we take for sake of sex.

This is a damn good question/point.

I wouldn't say it is about giving up, but it is about being realistic.

I ultimately opted for dating apps, where I could get a good sense of someone's objectives going into it. Note: they still lie, but at least with the prior chat, there is a "paper trail", allowing you to confidently tell them to piss off.

In a way it seems like giving up, because it is this (pathetic) cyber-flirting crap, but I just look at it like those old (snail mail) romance correspondences, to try to find a mate.

Oh, and it ALSO feels like giving up, because the deck seems to stacked against you (see general MGTOW literature for background/detail to that), but I just look at it as playing the (shitty) cards I have been dealt the best I can, and being realistic about the whole thing. It's very similar to looking for a job, which has also been mainly about futility. You just send out a whole goddamn bunch of (business-like) inquiries, and don't get emotionally attached to any of them!

I've been sober for a little over 20 years. Done the AA thing for a lot of it. I see people come in to meetings and they are saying similar things. "All these people are drinking alcohol and having a good time. I mean, good grief, I was just in a bad stretch when I got here. Why can't I do the same things they do?" And then that person would disappear for a while. Sometimes, they come back, looking and sounding like hammered dog shit and they have new horrible stories to tell.

Your post reminds me of those people. Sure, it might work for you. Anything is possible. Chances are, though, eventually you'll be back here, telling us a story and reminding everyone why we became MGTOW. You can be our researcher. It is not accepting defeat, it is knowing the game is not worth playing. beign mgtow doesn't mean no pussy, sure some may take it that far, but it begins with getting redpill and knowing what you may get yourself into if you're not careful. how i interpret is mgtow does not court women or play the chasing game, definitely does not marry or date a single mom due to potential trap with the law, does not commit to a woman. I would be straight up with a woman assertively "all I want is tit for tat" take it or leave it but certainly won't beg or be the "nice guy" to her.
