Kind of related but not.

I play rugby in the USA. We have a women's team, which is usually mostly lesbians, though straight girls play too.

Often times straight girls will stop playing though and I will see them out (since usually they date guys on the men's team and they will say things like)

"The lesbians are all fucking each other. Or they select who they are hooking up with, not who is the best choice for game day. It's crazy dealing with it and I just get sick of their shit."

Mind you, these are straight girls, who are fit, athletic, skilled, should be out there on game day and give the team the best chance to win and yet, get railroaded because they won't be lesbians with the others and prefer to fuck dudes.

Same sex couples oft don't share their assets--they have separate property.

Shared assets is a relic of Roman Law, and then Christian Law, when marriage entailed a very deep network of rights/duties for both parties. It made sense in the days of old, when dad was the breadwinner and mom stayed at home and took care of children and the elderly. Separation could occur in case of adultery/grave injuries (no no-fault divorce laws at the time), and the legal and cultural systems enforced monogamy.

But since same sex couples are not oriented towards childbearing, and no sexual division of work exists within them, shared assets doesn't make any sense.

Of course, feminists have preserved the traditional benefits for women under Roman law, while removing the duties it required.

Funny thing, they were married in another state, and for the longest time, couldn't get a divorce, because they moved to a state that didn't recognize their marriage.
For a while they were stuck in a legal limbo.
