Whatever they think is in their best interest will be what they believe in.
When men don't understand women it's because we think their interests should align with our interests. That's our own solipsism.
If being a good wife is seen as her best interest then that's what she'll do. if divorcing and getting a bunch of cash is an option she may choose that. If she's an ugly cow who can't get a boyfriend and any relationships she has had have been dysfunctional then she'll believe in feminism and all men are monsters.
Of course, men will also advance their own interests. The difference is that what interests men most is women.

Out of curiosity has anyone ever met/known a dude who works in HR? I've worked a pretty varied amount of jobs and the closest I can think of was the guys in my unit's S1. That doesn't really count though because my unit was all male anyway.
