I am not privvy to the details but is conceivable that an AI may have just factored in things like absentism, fidelity (as in job fidelity not the other kind ), productivity, physical aptitude, projected employment term vs costs of training etc and women may have scored lower.

Hence discrimination.

Either way whatever the reason might have been we already know that not tilting the playing field towards women is discrimination, we didn't need an AI for that.

Tl;Dr: Amazon built an AI designed to recruit optimal workforce. It chose the better workers (males). Feminazis didn't like the fact the AI worked as it was supposed to. The AI was removed.

After lurking here for a while, the real conclusion is that most (not all !) women just aren't meant to be problem solvers and career growers. Look at chess, professional videogaming, STEM grads. All these things are dominated by men and it has nothing to do with physical differences. All those things require problem solving and making logical decisions. Any algorithm looking for best candidates will look for these things and the results shouldn't be a surprise. This algorithm doesn't even factor in the other bullshit that comes with female employees such as sexual harassment, drama, PMS/emotion based decision making, and having children. Shit I've witnessed a female employee take maternity leave and never returned. The company basically wasted a solid year working around that instead of just straight up replacing her. These things don't even get counted. It's no surprise senior managers and C level executives tend to be male, discrimination against women in the workplace is a bunch of bullshit. They simply lack merit or tend to be content with work at lower levels.
