Yeah I have done a few trials of HTC Vive and I played Superhot mostly, and I agree it is really awesome. Ducking behind objects, throwing stuff and dodging bullets just makes you feel like you're in a movie.

The post here is more about VR in the future I think as using current VR to simulate hugging a girl by a fire would be pointless as you'd feel no warmth from the fire and wouldn't feel the girl's touch. So I assume this comic/meme is about advanced future VR, otherwise it would be even more lame.

Back to my original comment, if we assume that you can feel touch, etc, in this advanced VR then my point was that there is 10000% times better things to do.

When you can be anyone in the world, change the laws of nature and physics in a realistic simulation, why the fuck you you be cuddling a girl by a fireplace. Do something cool like I said or be James Bond or some shit like that, not this boring ass shit.

(I realise that by ranting and explaining by point in detail it's completely killed my original joke but never mind lol)

I wouldn't bother with the VR on phones.

HTC Vive is by far the best VR at the moment but it is pretty expensive.

I would do what I did, go find a local gaming store that offers trials of the HTC Vive, cost me about $10 for half an hour. It's super fun and you could literally do it every few month if you wanted and it wouldn't be that costly.

But in terms of buying VR I would definitely wait it out.

VR has only just started, compare the very first mobile phones to the ones we have now. Give it 5 to 10 years before buying as it will be much cheaper then and much better experience.

Although for VR to progress quickly the current generations still need to be bought so if you have the money to spend on it (money saved from not having a wife and kids) then I would go for it, but personally for me I cannot afford to spend money on a full VR system outright yet. I would consider in a few years though if I make enough money.

You actually have a good point. It's like all those dweebs that think we're living in a giant computer simulation. This world is too boring to be a simulation. It's like watching paint dry. Who simulates that? Only reality could be so dull.

Yeah it's definitely exciting, the possibilities are endless.

In my lifetime they will most likely be able to connect all your senses into it too, so it feels EXACTLY like real life except you can do ANYTHING. You can fly around like superman, you can live in historically accurate ancient Rome, you can bang 10 girls at once on an plane, you can relive scenes in any of your favourite movies, you can have camel races on the moon while naked (dunno where that came from).

You get the idea, I think a lot of people overlook how insane VR will be in a few decades, not sure how intrusive and dangerous it would have to be to involve your senses but I'm sure they will figure out a safe and easy way eventually.

VR is already pretty cool, I tried out Superhot in VR and despite the unrealistic graphics it felt awesome dodging all the bullets and hiding round corners.

The main issue at the moment is not being able to move very far, it limits the options, and not including other senses too although some games have guns as controllers to give touch senses, etc.

But it's literally been out only a few years, if you showed someone in the 80's or 90's the cell phones and video games we have now it would blow their mind, that's what VR will be like in 20 to 30 years, if you saw how good it is now it would blow your mind.

(Long post but as you can tell I am super hyped about the future of VR and love talking about it).
