Unpopular opinion but not all men are like that. Most humans in general are too uncreative, don't have the time, don't have the skill, or just too lazy to do something like this. Not downplaying this guy, but usually only like 1% of people really advance the human race via science and technology. Most of those 1% are male, don't get me wrong, but we can't go around taking credit for other people's achievements and saying we are all equally capable.

It seems hard to progressively overload with these types of equipment using those materials. I would go for a sack or weave a basket and just fill it up with stones. I mean, the pulldown machine is ingenuously impressive but a weighted pullup with a basket full of stone tied behind the back is more effective in building the lats.

The machines he build are the exact ones he doesn't need. For lat pulldown you just find a tree branch and do pull ups. For bench press, you just get on the ground and do push ups. For treadmill, duh you just go running.

All he really needs is a bunch of dumbells of varying weights, and then a bench. And if he wants to get fancy he could build a incline bench and a decline bench. With that he could do all excercise.

This program is terrible and likely as fake as a diaper silicon butt. These guys have plenty of opportunity to be in shape and show their skills just from living the jungle, but that would give very little novelty to get those delicious clicks....
