I think women needing help from men with technology or things that require height or strength is the same as men catcalling women, and I’m tired of it. That future is female and women should be running the world rhetoric is such bullshit. Men do so much work behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly that it’s mostly invisible and people don’t think about it or notice it.

Women running the world would be a guaranteed disaster. Not only would certain necessities of modern living cease to function, but important decisions would be based more on emotions and less on logic. In short, a recipe for disaster.

Story time - I used to work tech support for an ISP. One day a woman called and said that "the internet wasn't working". After a few minutes of troubleshooting and back and forth with her, I established that her router had died in the storm the night before. No biggie. It happens.

I informed her that she'd have to send us back the router and we'd send her a new one.

Her: " Last time my internet wasn't working, you connected to it remotely and got it working again. Please do that."

Me: "Erm, your router is dead. It is not powering on. We can't connect remotely to something that has no power."

Her (no BS - she really said this): "Well in that case, please connect to it and send it some electricity to fix it."

(I started laughing at this point until I realised she was being serious and actually thought that'd be possible. I put her on hold and literally fell on the floor laughing while I told my colleagues.)

Let me take this example to the extreme to demonstrate why women who use this "logic" should never be in charge of people's lives when split second decisions need to be made. Imagine a female airline pilot flying a full plane across the Atlantic at 30,000 ft. Suddenly the on-board computer guidance system stops working. The co-pilot tells the pilot that she should reboot the computer and she replies "I shouldn't have to. It was working fine up until a few minutes ago!"

Of course, this is part lack of "critical thinking", part lack of "Sense of Agency", part insecurity/narcissism/sociopath (it's not my fault).

When something wrong happens, it cannot be her fault whatsoever (in this case it was not), but if she were to accept that "I should have done that" she feels like it's her fault (again, it's not).

This is what's her fault" by continuing with that behavior and worldview, she will never learn anything, and she will keep repeating the same mistakes over and over and then over again.

The proper behavior/worldview would be: that's interesting, thank you for fixing my problem today and for showing me what to do first next time it happens.

Strictly speaking, she's right. The system should be maintaining itself. Especially since Apple had the slogan "It just works" for a very long time.

What was the field of her Masters degree? Very often, degrees in anything don't indicate general intelligence or even wide knowledge and that particular area. Just deep research into some nuances of some subject in that area.
