I have read a few posts here talking about the fact that we will experience death alone, as in the event of ceasing to live is experienced individually.

But that seems to miss the point - or, most likely, there's something here I'm not getting.

The fear of dying alone is of having nobody near you in your times of most need, and even imagining the situation of being in the pains of end-of-life with no one that cares intimately for you seems scary.

It seems to be the price of MGTOW, and a real price, not just a figment of the imagination (fear is not just an abstract mind process).
