I have to admit that I was really disappointed as well. I was quite the romantic up and until I was about 25 years old. I said this before (and so did someone else here. I forget who. I'm sorry), it was as if I realized that Middle Earth from lord of the Rings wasn't real. That I had foolishly believed that it was real.

Also almost all romances are written by men, so that's something to think about as well. We men are actually the romantic types. Women are more like the consumers of romance. Lot of their ”romance” fiction is kinda ”Alpa guy bones her” - type anyway to my knowledge. (Fifty shades of Grey). When men write romance is often about the woman being loyal through thick and thin.... Just a fantasy, really.

I think lots of guys go through the motions of PUA to TRP to MGTOW.

Romance can still exist "in theory" but it is extremely unlikely or highly fleeting. You should therefore enjoy the concept like you would a fairy tale. You can still fantasize about it and get some joy and tingles out of that every now and then but just like a flying dragon or visiting Middle-Earth, don't expect it to come true. Men need to understand that marriage and divorce are purely logical decisions. A man gets hitched if he makes a lot more money than the woman. The marriage is maintained if he is showing her a good time. And divorce will happen when she stops having a good time.

I just rewatched the Matrix again tonight and it's incredibly depressing and refreshing in a way. It's sad to think life is like some program with set boundaries and functions that we're all operating within but seeing the Red Pill for the first time you start to realize there is another way. I always had this visceral sentiment that the game was rigged anyway. For me, this was worse, as I tried blue pill men to understand, what my thoughts about the women were, instead, I always heard: "you are so negative, they are wonderful creatures", "you are gay", "you don't know women". I always saw the double standards in regards to women in their 20s, they truly believe they are entitled and could get a lot without much input and personal sacrifice. As a side note, all that PUA bull is useful, but I wouldn't bother too much if one is in his twenties. Concentrate on self-improvement, education, work, save some money first, and laugh at those poor little sobs, who think they are wiser and more alpha male than you because they orgasmed into a vagina, that will have them replaced anyway. You need to let go. Romance is dead, or it is a scam designed to hook men into marriage so that women can siphon off money from you. Most men who swallow the red pill are so appalled at the reality of female hypergamy that they engage in red pill rage. This is normal and healthy, but if it endures for too long, the man will spiral into the depths of negativity. He needs to accept the reality of female hypergamy and learn to live with it. He needs to amass wealth for himself and not waste it on women and children.
