What free market are you talking about? On a free market ineffective enterprises go bankrupt and no one is bailing them out. They are displaced by effective companies offering lower prices and higher quality of services/goods.

My opinion: *if* we are ok with the Federal government telling businesses that they aren't allowed to operate during this state of emergency, then we *have* to be ok with that same gov't making sure those companies (but only the companies in the direct line of fire) don't close down for good through no fault of their own.
If we *aren't* good with the gov't making sure these companies have doors to open at the end of all of this, then we have to be against them telling them they can't operate.

totally agree with your point. but becoming more focused, shouldn't the bail-out include a moratorium on mortgages and rent for the people too?
I think in Obama's run and the 2007/8 crash 5 million families (not including singles, families) were foreclosed upon and evicted from their partially paid house without any help/recourse.

We do not have to do anything by the scenario you set down. I’m not sure why you somehow think these things have to be this way. Natural disasters are the way of the world and the risk of owning a business is it failing for factors that often have nothing to do with the person. Just because you say I have to do something doesn’t mean it’s true.

There is a difference between an act of God and the neighbor fucking your dog.
If a business owner decides to close down for their own safety, they alone bear the burden. If they fail, they fail.
If they decide to stay open, infect a bunch of people, and get sued to hell. That their choice. If they fail, they fail.
If they are a responsible adult, stay open, but take the proper precautions and make it through, the reward is living another day.
I like to think of it as a "my wallet, my choice" situation. The very second someone else thinks they can make a choice about my livelihood, there has to be a trade-off. Otherwise, it's "fuck you, I'm gonna keep operating".
Ideally, the gov't would've kept their dirty dick beaters out of it and the left the responsibility on the people who should have it.

You aren’t answering what I said, you’re just repeating yourself. I’m libertarian, I understand your point but there is no objective difference besides this artificial one you are creating. Philosophize on the difference all you want.
Your business can fail because the government fucked you, you got sued, a random tornado tore it to shreds, a new company moved in that did it better, people no longer want your product, you developed leprosy, a global pandemic. That is reality. Owning a business is the opposite of a risk free endeavor and you aren’t divinely mandated to receive a bailout when reality makes a play outside of your rule book.
You can say there are more ethical ways of handling it by making a distinction, but in the end just because something supports your ideological thinking does not mean anything has to happen.

I mean, never mind I accrued arrears between jobs, and not from dodging my "obligations", the ex kicked me out because "IIIiiaahhmm nooooottt HAPPEEEE!!", I NEVER left my kids... but fuck me right? This is the treatment we deserve right? Every loadie, single mom, complicit "step dad" getting in on all 'does free gibs, every felon and criminal, every illegal alien and "refugee"... those people need a helping hand! Give them your money folks! But non-custodial fathers? I mean, for fucks sake lets be honest, being a convicted violent felon, a parolee, or a severely addicted meth user would be a better lot in life than your average divorced, non-custodial father. Non-custodial parents within our legal system, despite usually having done nothing more wrong than marry the wrong person are regarded and treated close to pedophiles, rapists and child molesters.
I'm used to this shit. I'm just hoping to see it all burn in my lifetime at this point. I could give a fuck about anyone other than my children suffering.
I actually really hope Baby Boomers enter a situation where they get to reap what they've sewn in one shape or form before leaving their extravagant lives of luxury, opportunity and acquired wealth behind.

You know, personally what gets to me is less of how "evil" this system is and more of how apathetic and dissociative people tend to be of you and your position as a divorced father. Unless these people find themselves personally on the wrong side of a family law order and thus awakened to the fuckery, they'll never even give a nanosecond of thought toward who and what you are beyond the cliche' 1980 deadbeat crackhead dad popping out hundreds of kids with poor, innocent wimmin. Once you slip beneath the surface from "Competent, respected family man" to "Divorced, broke deadbeat loser" you're probably not coming back in terms of social impression.
These people aren't hateful out of their own will, they're just people and people have preconceived notions about many things they'll NEVER actually investigate and the US and western governments have ensured that men who get railroaded out of their families and income, that they'll never have a legitimate voice in public and social protest thanks to the vast groundwork of propaganda they've laid.
The opposite of love isn't hate. It is indifference, and it drives me nuts how everyone is so indifferent to my situation, until of-course they themselves find in similar circumstances.

Yes, the indifference is mind blowing. The indoctrination I think is very strong. Women are indifferent because it not only does not affect them but it benefits them. My male buddies are indifferent because they are choosing blissful ignorance rather than facing the horrific suffering they are in line to endure if their wives one day decide they aren’t happy. I tried to start talking about it a little with them, but they just try to avoid it. People, even those that care about me a lot, just kind of stand off at a distance trying not to think too much about what I’ve gone through and what has been done to me. I know they care, but you are right, it will never matter much to them until they find themselves on the receiving end of divorce rape. Apart from giving my buddies as much of a warning as I can, unfortunately the best thing I can do from here on out is endure the suffering society has put on me, not complain too much so that I don’t lose all societal support (they will FUCK you even worse if you speak up!!!), warn other men on the Internet, and withdraw from society as much as possible to take care of myself and my own interests now that I understand how things work. And yes, if I find an opportunity to help overthrow this horrific system, I will absolutely be ready to lend a hand. The thing we have to remind ourselves is that, men and their sons are not forgetting what’s being done to them, they are only keeping their mouth shut as long as it serves their interests. But make no mistake, we are not forgetting and when the time comes for oppressed men to dole out justice, it will come so hard and swift this gynocentric society won’t even believe the magnitude of it.

I make too much money to receive more than a few bucks from this package. We’ll be paying for this one for decades and it’s another nail in the coffin for the US. I generally laugh at doomsayers but it’s becoming increasingly obvious modern society is coddled and lives in a bubble. We haven’t had any major conflict since 9/11, which was a terrorist attack with far more mental damage inflicted than physical. Nobody knows how to do anything besides live in peace and complain. Obviously there were “wars” but obviously soldiers are the exception, the military is probably one of the few places remaining that teaches society not to be useless pussies.
This society is incredibly weak and there are only so many bailouts we can borrow from the future, from the taxes of those who already pay their taxes to support net takers from the economy. I have seen how incredibly stupid people are any time the “plan” of the average wage slave gets thrown to the side. I have zero confidence in our people. More positively (for me) I can’t wait for a stock market crash so I can scoop up some juicy buys.
As for my sympathy towards the common American, half the world lives off $5/day. If I have to drink water, eat rice, and wipe my ass with leaves, fine with me. Give me internet access and through it unlimited books and I’ll be happy as a clam. I’ve lived in my car for a month out of choice when I moved across the country, wasn’t bad at all. Looking forward to our coddled people getting a reality check, especially the obnoxious feminists who think their lives sucked before.
