just going off the picture (old classic car, probably a big block 350, if not more) quick google ...
Chevy big block V8 - 685 pounds .. (although i think the car is probably a Pontiac maybe?)
so figure at a min.. 600 plus pounds

It's all in how you lift it. If you use proper form, you'll be just fine. Put it all in your groin and in your back. Take your legs totally out of the equation. Bend straight over at the waist, and lift with your lower back muscles in a sharp, jerking, twisting motion.

I don't know... with all of the accessories removed I can plausibly believe he's lifting 200-something pounds. I used to deadlift 400 lbs at a body weight of 180 lbs (and that's not even considered impressive for serious weight-lifters).

I doubt it, he’s not a big dude and that’s not a small engine. I am a big dude, with a decent deadlift, and the one or two engines I’ve had my hands on were much smaller than that and they weren’t fucking light.

Small V8 is about 250 kilos. There are guys who can lift it but I don't think this guy can.
