Just a simple question because I’m curious. I was only married to my ex for two years before we finally got divorced. We live the gather for an eight additional years. I have also been divorced for 20 years.My question is If either one of us dies can the other party collect Social Security from you were divorced spouse who died. Reason I’m asking is I know a lady who was divorced from this guy for a long time And he passed away and it increased her Social Security check because she was married to him at one time. Can any of you shed some light on this for me. Thanks. I’m just curious. Not going to mean much money to me because she had a crap job the whole time we were married legally.
