Today, when asked by my parents why I've not found a woman and tried to settle down yet, I explained to them MGTOW and what it is. I'm in my very early thirties, so it's generally kind of an awkward situation when I try to explain to people why I'm not searching for a relationship.

I reminded them of a past relationship, the one that made me MGTOW. I explained the process of corrupt divorce courts and why I want no part in that, this was immediately met with NAWALT, which was much expected.

More than anything, I emphasized the value that I place on my growing wealth, my happiness, and most importantly, my time. I explained that I enjoy not being on anyone else's time, only having to answer to myself, being able to purchase whatever I please whenever I please, I love that life.

My father seemed to react very well, he told me that my happiness is all that should matter to me and if that was the lifestyle I chose, then so be it. He explained that all he wanted for me was happiness and success, and if I chose to never have children or get married, it would be okay because that's the decision I made.

My mother, on the other hand, was not as receptive. Don't get me wrong, I love my mother to death, she's always been great to me, but she was very closed minded. She told me that she thought I was being selfish, and explained that she wanted grandchildren some day. This kind of hurt to hear, but it is what it is.

This interaction made me realize that even way later into life, my mother, in her 60's, is insisting that I must get married and have children, because she has the desire to have grandchildren. I tried not to be rude but offered the solution that if she wanted another child to spoil, perhaps she should adopt a child, but that thought was just ludicrous to her.

At the end of the day, women will always be selfish regardless if in youth or in old age. No matter what age, they are always going to look out for their interest before anything or anyone else's.
