During my ex-wife's articling year she gave birth to our youngest. I stayed home on parental leave...it wasn't that hard to keep the house clean, prepare three meals, keep track of the baby, keep track of the kindergartener, and walk the dog. I even had enough time to renovate the living room (re-oriented the room, put in hardwood floors, put in insulation, dry-walled the walls and ceiling) and I still had time to play Civ IV while the baby slept and I couldn't pound nails in.

I wholeheartedly endorse feminism. It has set men free in a way never possible! At my age i'd have a few children by now and be working like a dog to support them (sure it's a noble task) and the wifey (lol) but instead it's just me, as I am, free to do as I wish. Thank you feminism!

I'm good with this as a legit future. I definitely want a career and if we can afford it my boyfriend would probably like to be a house husband or professional gamer (he's very talented,plays competitive tf2). If we ever adopt a kid he would be the stay at home father because he's much better with children. But yeah I'm happy with being the breadwinner and him being stay at home. It's not the 1950s lol.

That's the rub though. Playing competitive gaming is a job and can be quite lucrative if one can break out ahead of the pack. If you have ever followed the SC1 or SC2 scene you would know just how much work these players put into their craft. Its not easy and I have no idea how they can do it without getting completely sick of it.
Your boyfriend is doing exactly what he as a male was genetically programmed to do and that is to be competitive to gain resources. Its far far far more than just playing video games.
