These days the vast majority of people are actually "socially isolated" -- despite (or perhaps BECAUSE) of their continual, incessant, use of so called "social" software.
Seriously their heads are perma-tilted down and fixated on their smart-phone screen (which is apparently glued to their hand); even when they are with a group of friends they don't actually TALK to each other or make eye contact, etc.
While some of the photos of groups of people doing that are obviously "posed" -- others, like say this one are actually a serious reflection of things that I see on a regular basis.
It's truly BIZARRE how dramatically different this is compared to how things used to be (I'm an old fart, I actually remember -- was a full adult for decades during -- the "before" times: before smartphones, before facebook, before even the internet)... years back if a group of young people were together like that they would have been looking AT each other, talking TO each other; now they all look like they're complete strangers who just happened to be randomly seated next to each other.

I think you entirely MISTAKE the point that I am making... though I will admit that I was more or less thinking out loud and maybe didn't make them clearly enough.
The WAY that the vast majority of people -- the so called "extroverts" are now engaged in what they call "socializing" -- is DIFFERENT, but is nevertheless essentially laying BARE what was really always true...
And that is that they're engaged in a "game" that is a combination of gossip & superficial "oneupmanship" -- i.e. it was always about social climbing & "status" displays.
That USED to be done via WHO you were seen interacting with, sitting with, etc.
NOW it's all done via things like "Facebook" and Tinder, etc.
--
The point being that they were never truly INTERESTED in each other to begin with -- only in obtaining a sort of "validation" from each other; and that "validation" now comes from online "friend" counts, how many "likes" you get on your latest picture-meme-post, how many people (and who) is a "subscriber/follower" of your twitter feed or whatever-else-the-fuck people are doing these days.
By contrast, people who are "monkish" or "hermits" are probably involved in actually DOING something -- something that doesn't involve seeking the vapid "validation" or superficial exhibitionism of crap like the so called "social" media, and the people who "socialize" via that. If when you DO meet up with the monk/hermit types (at least the ones who aren't glued to OTHER media like TV's) you are very likely to actually have an INTERESTING conversation.
Well when it comes down to the bullshit about things like "introverts/extroverts" etc -- you're almost certainly going to HAVE to comprehend the "semantics" aspect -- because those terms have always been applied in a rather biased and bullshit manner.
The most "extroverted" people I have known are also often some of the truly SADDEST and (internally) the most DEPRESSED people -- the whole "extroversion" is sort of like a drug addiction or alcoholism... they stay constantly busy and "socializing" not necessarily because they enjoy it so much, but rather because they often cannot stand to be (are literally afraid and reduced to horrible anxiety & panic attacks about being) "alone" with themselves.
That's really the exact OPPOSITE of the way the situation is usually characterized -- the "introvert" is usually tagged as being some kind of "social misfit" -- when really the "misfit" part is that the "social" environment is rather vapid and toxic.

...
Similar, I couldn't take the pointless conversations they got me no where.
The best solution I think is to find a relative that is sensible and befriend them. Friendships with strangers are transient but someone you grew up with can last.

From a guy who slaves away and is drained by a shitty job, leaving me no time whatsoever to really engage in activities and personal goals I have for myself, this sounds like paradise. I've recently been looking for a career change/taking some time off working for a couple of months so that I can finish projects I've been forced to put aside to make a living.
How do you sustain that lifestyle? Living frugally is one thing, and I'd be fine with next to nothing as long as I can work on my personal projects all day, but even living frugally requires at least a LITTLE income. (Food, shelter, hygienic products).
So how do you sustain this lifestyle? Tell me your secrets.
