Three words: NOT. MY. PROBLEM.
Your pregnancy doesn't entitle you to my seat.

Mothers are some of the most self righteous cunts around. There are 7 billion people on this planet, just because you pooped out some brats does not mean you're doing anyone a favour

Right!?! Had a chick tell me that women are better because they give birth to the next generation. I laughed at her. Said: "That is something that your body does automatically. All you have to do...is eat and not do meth. Not that hard."

Yep as others have pointed out before, there are cases of women in comas that have brought a healthy baby to term.

its not chivalry its common courtesy for someone disabled even temporarily so.
(Yes I consider pregnancy a disability.)

Her poor life choices lead her to being pregnant while needing to use public transit. Further, there is a whole bus/train full of people including non-pregnant women and yet the onus is a beta male to sacrifice for her. This flyer is a shit test designed to have men self select into beta or alpha.

shit test designed to have men select into beta / alpha?.. cant make this shit up. not everything is about alpha / beta.. This is just a cunt feeling important.

That's what a shit test is. Do you put up with the shit and be socially submissive, or not put up with the shit and be socially dominate.

...and what is wrong with her asking ANY other human if they would kindly give up their seat? You see, it's not about common courtesy, it's about asking for what you need, not wishing it expecting it.
Oh yeah, and chivalry is dead. Women don't want us to assume they are weak and need protecting anymore. Just ask one of your feminist friends.

Technically pregnant women need exercise to have an easier safer birth. But most pregnant women don't get very much exercise and just lay about eating ice cream and stuff. Guy is probably doing her a favor. But to answer your question. Yes.

The same way the woman got pregnant I would assume. I mean whatever turns you on I guess. Perhaps there was a very handsome rooster named Chad and he couldn't resist. Yeah so the woman can stand.. Good we have an understanding.
[–]Ludovico1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I think you misunderstand. I am saying its not a 'problem' for me because i can comfortably stand. So its not an issue for me to give up my seat to someone elae that could use a sit down. Like someone on crutches, a very pregnant woman, etc
It does not benefit me to give up my seat... therefore I will not be giving up my seat.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Did you just assume xer gender?
Standing up does not put stress on the baby. Pregnant women are not unwell. Any person who is unwell may ask ANY other person sitting down if they can give up their seat for them if they wish. Why should it be limited to men? You are the fucking retard.
Her body her responsibility. I didn't get her pregnant she can stand I worked all day.

yeah, no.
First off, i don't like babies. Or women that have them. Second, It was her choice to be selfish and bring another hungry mouth onto this planet, not mine. Why should i suffer? Third, I don't know what to do anymore when it comes to behaving with women.
As Whiskybandit67 said, "Chivalry is Sexism" and I agree to that. One time i was walking back from class (i was an undergrad at this time) and i saw a girl struggling carrying some large bags. I don't know where she got them or why she had them, but she was walking towards the dorms with them.
I asked her, "do you need help?" Just being a nice citizen.
She looked me up and down, disgusted (i'm not ugly, but not brad pit by any stretch of the imagination, and i'm a little on the short side - 5'8") and said, "no, thanks." in the shittiest tone possible.
I said alright, and continued on my way. I turned to look as i rounded the corner, and she had to set her bags down.
whatever.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

pregnancy is not a disability.
[–]Strella102 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
and also pregnancy is not just some optional lifestyle option its essential for the species to exist, all of us are products of a pregnant woman, so having policy in place to support that is perfectly reasonable.
however once they have had the kid and start demanding that "Because they are a mom" they are now so "wise and learned" then they can fuck off.

[–]nocivo0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
you do not need to interact with people. Just leave the seat like you are exiting soon or just want to release some pressure from your but xD
I never give away my seats. If I see anyone that need it more then me like looking tired old folks, pregnant woman or disable people who have a hard time to stay up special in bus.
If someone sits in that place instead of that person not my problem anymore. I did my job and it felt good.
[–]-Fender-11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Right. If I see someone in crutches or otherwise impaired, I really don't mind giving them my seat that much. Costs me nothing, and I sit down too much in a normal day anyways. I really don't care what gender they are, I'll do it anyways. Just like when holding doors open for the people behind you. It just seems polite for a minimal amount of effort and no loss. Common courtesy.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yep. But we are not going through the red pill rage, are we?
[–]johnnygeeksheek6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
I of course cannot speak for others, but for me it's not about the rage phase. I'm long past that. There are a couple of reasons I probably wouldn't give up my seat.
First this whole flyer is a shit test designed to cause men to self select into Alpha or Betas. Did you notice the man doesn't exactly look like a chad and the pretty overt implication that a pregnant female is just more important than a noodle armed bookworm who can't afford a car? The point of the flyer is not promote courtesy between all human beings. No, the point is to specifically target beta males in order reinforce blue pill thoughts. (Women are more important than men and you should make any and all sacrifices on their behalf.)
Second, in the hypothetical scenero this will reinforce her sense of entitlement which will not help with her growth and development as a person and make her transition over the wall all the more painful.
However, I'd probably make a quick assessment of her character. If she dressed conservatively and had a demur, respectful, polite attitude or displayed a K-selected aura I might consider giving her my seat.
If her vibe was of a r-selected whore with a sense of entitlement. No.
Frankly, few K-selected women will be riding public transit and in the extreme minority within the general population anyway.
[–]DigitalScetis1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Interesting observations. After all, Chad doesn't need to give up his seat, nor would women demand he do so. They can't sit on Chad's lap if he gets up.
[–]johnnygeeksheek0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Thank you.
[–]ilearnfast5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Another woman should give up her seat. Men build civilizations so it is absolutely logical that women must be thankful in any way they can.
[–]Trail_of_Jeers3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
To a disabled person, sure. But she is so abled that she can afford to put a baby inside her. She's super-able. And empowered and independent.
The dude, on the other hand, clearly eats so fast he doesn't chew, so probably has an eating disorder.
[–]Ludovico14 points15 points16 points 9 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link
I am a very strong and able young man. I am happy to give up my seat to pretty much anyone that could use a seat.
I am also a father, and realize maybe a little more so what women go through with pregnancy. So especially if she is further along i will ask if she would like my seat.
Its altrusitc, and compassionate and i aim to be the change i want to see. I think its a real shame that bitterness can so easily get in the way of compassion.
[–]DigitalScetis7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
A gallant thought...kind of like the ones I used to have. But allow me to suggest that perhaps--just perhaps--not standing up and offering the seat, but waiting to be asked by her nicely is "being the change we want to see."
Doing it without having to be asked nicely only reaffirms that we don't deserve any consideration as men when we inconvenience ourselves. And if something like this is not viewed as something worth acknowledgement, neither is the desperate call for you to white knight yourself for no pay in a dark alley either.
[–]Ludovico4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I think that's a good point. And i would appreciate being asked. i think that we are all responsible for our own behavior and if a woman isn't going to bother to ask then she shouldn't expect anyone to move.
That said i don't do it for consideration. i don't do it so she will like me. i don't do it because it will make me look good. i do it because i think it's right, with absolutely no expectation of any reward.
I do it because i know when my ex-wife was pregnant it was hard on her body and since it is really not in the least a problem for me to stand, i think it's a kind and compassionate gesture to offer my seat.
i do very little if anything at all for acknowledgement. it's nice when it comes, but it's not why i do what i do. my actions are based on my principles, and what i believe is right.
[–]DigitalScetis5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I don't want to bust your balls over this; a guy like yourself doesn't deserve to have his balls busted over something like this. You are a good man, who sees that doing a good deed, for no other reason than it is good to do such a thing, without even having to be acknowledged for such goodness as a good man should, is, of course, saintly morality, and of the highest standard.
And I used to think as you do, until I started to see how my good moral stance might have, the stance that my conscience demanded of me, was the easy choice, rather than the right choice, and caused more problems for people I didn't see.
When strong, able-bodied father who holds no animus or expectation of gratitude "does the right thing" for this woman by getting up off his seat, he helps her and helps himself, but he also turns the tired, middle-aged man into a villain, when he doesn't get up off his seat immediately, on her bus ride home.
The guy who went through a rough day, the one who might have never had sex before, because he is ugly, might need a seat. And yet, he is called or thought about as a monster, simply because some woman who was far less pregnant than the woman you helped demanded he give up his seat, and he had the audacity to say "ask someone else. I can't deal with this from you."
That might have not been your intent. You could very easily justify to yourself and your god that you bear no guilt for those things. But that's the danger when we choose to be moral for its own sake, and not because it serves the greater purpose of creating a more grateful world.
Perhaps the greatest gift a human being can give is to not burden another person with his or her needs. Decent people apologize when their needs are accomodated, when their presence disrupts the harmony before they came around. They say please, thank you, and do not impose their needs on those they feel ought to simply understand, and react accordingly without saying. That such people exist--people like you--shows us that people with special needs, like women, ought to approach life with humility and gratitude for the goodness shown to them...goodness that is so good, it doesn't even have to be asked or rewarded.
The fact that women, however, feel entitled to burden strangers with their pregnancies shows me that they have no gratitude for their neighbor's goodwill when shown by people like you. And if they show no gratitude to you, they will shower the man with the hip injury and the arthritis, the man who can't get up (but is brave enough to hide it) with abject contempt.
Good men like you are a gift. You may not feel bad when you go unacknowledged, but that doesn't mean the people you help spread the goodness given to them. They may turn your goodness into another's pain.
[–]Ludovico0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I appreciate you thinking I'm a good guy, and also that you took the time to write so much. also, I can take some ball busting, so it's all good.
I get what you are saying about making a villain out of the tired guy on the bus, but I think that's his problem and not mine. I have no ill will towards anyone else that doesn't want to stand. I don't know their circumstances so don't judge. Could I be ruining his day? ya I guess, but where do we draw the line with that line of thinking? should I not hold doors open for people because I'm worried I'm going to offend some poor son of a bitch that is so incredibly insecure in himself that someone else being a good guy makes him angry? Isn't this like saying we should use gender pro-nouns that people want because we would upset them otherwise?
I agree with you about the greatest gift and not burdening people. I try my best to do that myself. I don't want anyone to go out of their way for me for any reason, especially if they begrudge it. And I see how you link that to women feeling entitled to burden me. but I think this may be muddying the waters of our discourse here. First we assume that the woman feels entitled, and personally I think that's besides the point. Now if a pregnant woman 'demanded' my seat, that would be different. but for me to do the right thing it doesn't matter if she is entitled, or if she is appreciative, or offended or anything. my point is that it is the right thing to offer someone in need my seat specifically because it does NOT burden me. I am strong, I can stand on the bus all the way across town without issue, so when someone that is uncomfortable standing is on the bus I believe it's a kind gesture to offer my seat.
And my goodness being turned into anothers pain, again does this mean that we shouldn't do kind things for people? do you think we should be compassionate? do you think compassion is a virtue? do you think it's a vital part of society that we are kind to one another?
personally I think that most people are shit. I think the world would be a better place if it included more compassion, more kindness, more altruism. I understand that sometimes the best intentions can lead to pain, but I still think I should be the change I want to see and act with compassion and kindness.
I appreciate the dialogue though, so if you still feel like it I'm open to you pointing out where I'm going wrong here.
[–]DigitalScetis1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Forgive me if I didn't respond right away, but I think your post deserved my best attention.
I guess I would ask that if, indeed, you did make that man who couldn't get up a villain, because the women on the bus expected for him to do as you did, would you feel guilty that your act of voluntary kindness became, in the minds of those bus riders, a matter that became an informal expectation?
You say it is not your problem, and you are right. It isn't your problem, but it is his problem, and the reason it is his problem is because men, especially, have done so many kindnesses of this sort, and continue to do them, that the kindness is no longer even considered kindness...it's considered an expectation. The propagandistic poster that the thread talks about only reaffirms this, doesn't it? That it is not kind when you get up and make room for a pregnant woman on the bus, it's your damn duty, for no other reason than you are a man, and the pregnant woman is not.
And when it starts to become an expectation, then people do it, take it, exploit it, and undermine it to the point that it becomes a source of resentment...and the ironic thing is that the people who are best served by it are, more likely than not, the most resentful towards it.
Now imagine, if you will, a bus filled with teenage girls, and one bitter, arthritic old man. A pregnant woman gets on. According to the logic of the poster, the duty to get up and make way will be the bitter, arthritic old man's. But he doesn't get up, and the pregnant woman complains on Muffpost Who, actually, are the villains here, if anyone?
Is it the bitter old man? The Muffpost will say so.
Is it the pregnant woman for writing the screed? A lot of MGTOW will say so.
Or are the villains, quite possibly, the teenage girls? The ones who really couldn't be bothered to interrupt their texting and gossiping about boys, because giving up seats to pregnant women are what men are for?
Feminists make a big point about men "sharing their weaknesses" and "expressing how they really feel." But as I inquire into their desire for this, I cannot help but think that part of the reason they view men as so repressed is that many women are so inconsiderate towards men, they are literally no longer even able to read the feelings and vulnerabilities of men that are altogether obvious to anyone with an ounce of awareness.
Of all the lines that you wrote, what most saddens me is the thought that "personally, I think most people are shit." To me (and I must confess, I am still working on adopting this worldview myself), most people aren't shit as much as they are blind. What we attribute as "shit" is, nine times out of ten, simple ignorance of what people have to go through everyday.
I mean, I can say that the people need more compassion, more altruism, and more kindness towards me, and towards each other. I can always find fault. But when I think about it, people don't even have to be as kind as they are towards me. They can be downright hostile, rude, nasty, forgetful, negligent, careless and violent towards me all the time, and nobody, in this gynocentric world, needs to care as much as they do. But the fact that people do their jobs as best they can is, for me, something to be grateful for. And even if they do their jobs poorly, I'm grateful that I got a poor job, then no job at all done on my behalf. Does that mean that things can't be better? Sure. But as long as I am not able to do my own shit, and have to rely upon others, I have to be grateful that I have access to others to rely upon, even if it doesn't always go smooth.
One of the things the Jesuits practice is to start each day, and start each prayer, with gratitude for all the things they ought to be grateful for, remembering all the little instances of people who do things that they didn't have to do, but made the Jesuit's life better.
And the reason they do this is because people, generally speaking, aren't grateful for most of the things that people do for them: the shopkeepers keeping shop. The conductor who made the train run. The doorman who stays up at the hotel. We tend to look at these people as "just doing their jobs," and "they get salaries as their reward," so we feel justified, in a sense, to not have to think about them. But the Jesuits in their spiritual exercises make great effort to be grateful to such people, because even though they get paid, and even though it is their duty, they didn't have to accept their pay, and they didn't have to accept their duty.
See, the reason that this holy order starts with gratitude is because they know the danger of what we might call moral conceit, or the thought that "because I am righteous and good, and my motives are pure, my pain must be due to wickedness and badness, whose motives are impure." And it is one of the easiest spiritual traps to fall into, because then you start to see wickedness and badness everywhere, even where it doesn't even exist.
Part of the reason you get up for the pregnant woman is because you, in particular, aren't ignorant of the thing the pregnant woman is going through, as you saw your ex-wife found it difficult. But doesn't that also presume that the pregnant stranger is the same as your ex-wife in this regard, and that perhaps--just perhaps--she may not be like that?
Maybe she is in pain, but maybe the fact that you, a handsome, capable man, noticed she was pregnant and jumped up to give her your seat insulted her, or made her feel like an object of pity, or--dare I say--made her feel as if you were objectifying her to justify your benevolent sexism. See, if she doesn't have a deep sense of gratitude about things, even the kindest kindness might appear to be the gravest insult. But as you can't know about her sense of gratitude, you can't predict how she will view your show of compassion.
That's why I believe "doing the right thing," without a deep sense of gratitude, and a deep sense of gratitude in others, may actually do more harm than good. This is why the SJWs and the feminists end up making a mess of things, because they feel so strongly that they, personally, are "doing the right thing," but they are doing so blindly, making assumptions about the world they imagine without ever having to actually see it or interact with it.
For me, I am more concerned about "not doing the wrong thing" than "doing the right thing", if only because it is rather clear to discern what the wrong things are: imposing yourself on someone, nastiness, greed, pride, ingratitude, and so on. The world wouldn't need to be more "compassionate and kind" if we just were more mindful of the wrongs we do, often without realizing them. If the world were like that, the altruism, compassion, kindness, and mercy would be so huge, and so obvious, we wouldn't need to make a big push to make way for pregnant women on the bus, and call it kindness or shame it into a duty. They would be taken care of, and they would take care of us.

Right there with you man, MGTOW is not about hating women its about finding yourself, what makes you happy, and realizing that the 'fantasy' drilled into our heads as children concerning women is utter garbage.
we are MGTOW not feminists, Leave the hate speech to them and find your own way brothers.
No, we are not feminists. If we were, we would take photos and notes, like good apparatchiks, on who was manspreading so we could criminalize it.
But we just want to be left alone, take care of ourselves, and not get involved in the affairs of strangers.
It may not be right to take such a stance, but it cannot possibly--under no circumstance--be called wrong.
ya man. go to a feminist board and see all the women talking about how all guys are assholes, and they only think about sex or whatever. we are doing the same shit here. or at least some of us are.

Women choose to get pregnant. If we are suddenly responsible for the consequences of other's choices, then I am probably owed quite a bit.
[–]Ludovico2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
I'm not responsible for their choices. that's a strawman.
What i am responsible for is how i conduct myself as a member of society. I want to be the change i want to see so i choose to be a compassionate member of society. I think compassion, and magnanimity are virtues and want to see those ideals spread.
[–]Trail_of_Jeers5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
Save virtue for the men in your life, they need and deserve it more.
Besides, if you work in the US you are already providing for women.
[–]Ludovico3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
for me it's not about who deserves it or doesn't. it's about doing the right thing regardless of who is on the receiving end. i believe how we treat those that can offer us nothing in return is a true sign of our character. i value integrity.
[–]Trail_of_Jeers2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Cool, can I borrow 3 grand? I can offer you nothing in return.
[–]Ludovico5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Trail_of_Jeers6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Be careful sir, your cup of self-righteousness is overflowing. Seriously, for every good deed and right thing you do, you will still fall short. Be careful judging others, lest you be judged yourself.
[–]Ludovico0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
What do you mean by fall short? And i dont mind being judged, why is everyone so uptight about judging? Isnt expressing our judgement the point of this thread?
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I thought it was pretty self-explanatory. You will find, at the end of your life or before perhaps, that you weren't quite as good or right as you had hoped.
I meant judgement in the context of having a limited point of view.
The point of this discussion is not to make judgement but to debate and be open-minded about other points of view. Of course, having a point of view is very limiting but it's how most people operate.
[–]Ludovico0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
So you are saying dont try to be good cause i will fall short? Why shouldnt i try my best? Even if its a given that i will fall short? Isnt that noble? Isnt that persistence and determination? Even if i fall short i will do better than if i just didnt try.
And i think our definitions of judgement are different. I see it as an integral part of discourse and debate. How else can i critisize your ideas if i dont judge them?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Having a point of view is very limiting. Being judgemental is downright criminal. Good luck with that. You live in a black and white world of right and wrong, good and bad. Being that way ultimately makes you blind in honoring yourself and others.

Here's a test, the next time you see an individual that you believe you should give your seat up for, just sit. Come back and tell us where your mind wanders during that time. And don't just start giving me lip service without actually having done it.
[–]Ludovico1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have done that. One of the reasons i give up my seat is that it feels bad to not offer when my intuition tells me to.

Yeah, women did not stop hunting with the clan when they were pregnant 8000 years ago. Hell even today perhaps, in some shitty places.
[–]ManIsWalking7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I for one would like us to stop placing a special privledge on pregnant women. Sure it's more difficult to get around carrying the extra weight. But 7 billion people in the world is a testament on how "special" pregnancy is.

Im with you, i do the same, generally i spot it a good while befire they are close to me and ive gone before they even get there. It mostly doesnt look like i give up anything. In asia you see this a lot. In Malaysia for example this is prevalent. It is spreading to other countries too and I know I have seen it in other countries (Malaysia is easy for me to remember because I drove there). It is not part of a legal framework (like disabled parking), but instead a sign of huge privilege given to women within the culture of a country and as a result businesses create and advertise this to attract women (the primary spenders of money) to their stores.
[–]batfish550 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Is that legal?
It's not backed up by any civil code that I'm aware of. So, yea.
[–]Iappreci8thegr8r8m80 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No cop can ticket you for it. They aren't legally enforcible signs. The biz could ask you to move but in the time it takes for someone to see you, tell the mgr, mgr track you down and ask you to move, hear you refuse, and call a tow truck you'll likely be done shopping

As far as I'm concerned, if the woman gets pregnant then they should work out how to manage their lives around that and should not be expecting special treatments because they got knocked up. There should be no obligation to stand for pregnant women. First come. First serve.

If we want to live in a polite and courteous society then we have to behave as such, giving up your seat to a disabled, elderly, or pregnant person is a small price to pay to pursue that goal, That being said people who feel 'Entitled' to the seat can just go walk in front of a bus.
Being an MGTOW does not excuse rude or disrespectful behavior, that is how feminists think, we are MGTOW and we are better than that.
It would be rude or disrespectful, I would think, to kick someone out of her seat, so that one can sit in it.
But I see it as neither rude, nor disrespectful, to stay where one may be. In a bus of a dozen or two dozen people, why should the MGTOW be the one who gets up? Why not some mangina who is guilty for his male privilege?
If people need to be allotted seats on the basis of importance, then--hands down--the man should have it.
The value of that man is many factors higher than either the woman or the thing the woman carries. Perhaps, in the future, it will not be that way. But, on this day, it is.
[–]Cicuta1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
500,000 abortions in the U.S. in 2016 make the cartoon a mockery.
Standing whilst others are seated is a sign of your superiority, look down upon the weak and helpless from your lofty peak.
That said - why is it always a bloke sitting? Could it not be a slightly more bipedally able female?
In general my policy is to be generous to those who do not demand it, I will not be shamed or pushed into an altruistic act by someone's sense of entitlement.
