I think you shouldn't waste your time writing something that she will either misunderstand or try to use against you if ever possible. I would at most write something like "Sorry, I don't see anymore a life together" - the shorter the better, and even then it could still be a waste of time.

Keep the letter yourself. Leaving your side of the story or rebuttal is an INVITATION for her to come back into your life. Leave it with minimal reason for her to retaliate. Often during a breakup whatever you say are reasons why you are blaming her from her perspective, no matter how well thought out/logical your assertions may be they. will. not. be. taken. that. way.

If you are leaving, just leave. If she is mildly pissed and likely partying than chalk it up as a win that you don't have a sexual assault charge. Just gtfo and live your life.

I just wrote up a big reply about the things I think about "ghosting". Then I read you past posts and now understand your situation. So I deleted everything I wrote.

For you, specifically, you need to leave nothing behind. Honestly, you are in a very bad situation with a very destructive person who has no filters. She is living with you in an open relationship without your agreement, literally fucking other men like you are nothing but her captive slave (which is every woman's AF/BB fantasy, really). She will be vindictive and remorseless. If she can lay false accusations on you, she will. I gaurentee that the moment she realises what you have done, she will be thinking about what she is going to say to the police when she calls them.

Women use the police and really, civic authority in general, as henchmen and weapons. And she will try to light the fuse on the ballistic missiles to destroy you.

Then there is physical safety to think about. If she ever finds you, I'm certain that killing your dog will, at the least cross her mind.

Also, I'd be mindful not to give her insights that will make her more manipulative in the future. If you tell her what she did that caused you to action an emegency exit, she'll simply make sure that her next victum doesn't get those same opportunities to "wake up" and save themselves as you did.

Leave nothing. Anything you leave, absolutely anything, could end up being a tool to mess up your life. Just vanish leaving absolutely no trace.

You're living situation with her is extremely abusive. You have to be 100% committed to what you are doing.

the genius of leaving the letter in the book is that she may not see it for some time. She'll have this horrible shock of you being gone and done with her. She'll be miserable. Her life will go back to normal. Then one day she'll look at this book, go through it, and realize you left a letter to her in it and her misery starts all over again.

Question: For her birthday last year, I had a custom book made for her of all the things we wanted to do together, there are blank pages at the back, I began writing a letter to her, everything I ever wanted to say to her, do I leave the letter or just walk away?

For lulz, I would leave it in the back of that book. 99% chance she'll never even read it.
