Everyone dies alone. If the choice is living out my golden years in silence while enjoying my every whim, or living out my golden years at the beck and call of a narcissist, I happily choose the former.

My favorite line is, "your marriage didn't work because of bad luck picking the wrong spouse."

I politely turned down many propositions for marriage because I knew it was the wrong person.
I only accepted one proposition and it was the worst mistake of my life. It's amazing how quickly the switch is flipped once the contract is signed.

See that’s the thing. Ending up alone isn’t bad if you’re actually happy with yourself. So many people put their happiness and self worth into their relationship with another and far too often that ends poorly. Ending up alone is only bad when you feel you need someone else to make your life whole. But, if you learn how to love yourself and not need someone else to make you happy, then ending up alone sounds fantastic. Just think, just me, myself, and I for the rest of time. Don’t have to worry about the fighting, cheating, money, divorce, and all that other BS that can come with marriage. All i have to focus on is making the world around me content

People are afraid to die. Alone even more so. I just don't get it though or I'm not as affected by this reality.

"But who's gonna take care of you when you get old?" Answer: you should. If you take care of yourself right now, you will end up in a healthier position in the future. Invest in you.

"You're going to miss out when you get old" Answer: Miss out on what ? Doing my own shit and having my own path to walk on ? Being proud of my personal achievements ?

If I train at something and get really good at it, did I miss out on something else ? Yes, I think I would. No matter what you do in this life you will miss out. You cannot have more than 24hrs in a day so no matter what you do you will miss out on something, anything. Who cares ? Prioritize. Women - low priority.

Women tend to say the last one. When I retort with "you cannot guarantee me that I'll not end up alone" they try and find still the reasoning for why I should be with someone.

I think they are the ones who are afraid of ending up alone (men are also but not as much as women) and try and project this fear onto others.

Thing is... it's a matter of perspective and observation in my case. Observe and act at the way women treat you and you'll get to choose. What do you want ? To go further in life with an emotional tumbler or by yourself and hire escorts to do with you how you please ?

1st Answer) "Kids cost $300k on average to raise to into adults and most adults don't want to take care of their old parents. If they do, its out of "obligation". Adults would "prefer" to not have parents involved with their daily life.But do you know what will take care of me without feeling guilty when I'm old? Money! I can take the $600,000 that I would invest into 2 kids, and invest into other things and grow wealthy when I'm old"

2nd Answer) "A wife does not equal a "companion". A wife is a business partner, with a business contract that I'm stuck with unless I pay a hefty price to get out of that contract. That price being death or divorce.Now, I can find true companionship with Dogs, Friends, Communities, Hobbies, etc."

3rd Answer) "Married men have less sex than single men statistically. So instead of being married and restricting the amount of sex I am "allowed" to have on "her terms" I can have sex whenever I want as a single man.I can travel the world and visit every red light district in hundreds of areas, something I cannot afford or be permitted to do as a married man. 4th Answer) Marriage equals bondage. Financial bondage & sexual bondage. Don't tell me to throw away my freedom to live in your Disney fantasy where people love each other happily ever after. Its not real, it never was, and old couples today who have stayed married did so because they got married for "survival" back in the day when you needed 2 incomes per household after WWII. Times have changed, you don't need marriage to survive anymore.

Lol... none of my current friends say that. The ones that would have said it are friends I don't keep in touch with anymore. The closest thing I have to a married friend is my boss... and he doesn't try to get me to get married. (I think I may have said once that if I were in a relationship I would not be able to work as often as I do (it rocks to love what I do for work)).

In both scenarios, whether I am with someone or not, I will take care of me when I get old because no one else will be able to. The benefit of being alone is that it will be easier to do so because I won't have to spend extra time and energy taking care of everyone else around me first, as is expected from men.

Regardless of what you do in life, you're going to miss out on something. If I get married, there are a hell of a lot of things that I'll miss out on too. I choose not to get married because I value experiencing those things over having a wife or partner.

But here's some of my responses:

- There's no guarantee that people will take care of you when you grow old, even if you are nice. I've seen nice old people alone in places, retirement homes, coffee shops... and frankly, I see a sort of quiet helplessness in their eyes. I feel bad, but that's reality.

- I'm not against relationships but I just go with the flow, I also can't be with people who can't take care of me now when I'm young. I think a lot of people have people around them who never actually take care of them while they are young. What's the use of thinking about the future, when it shows they don't today.

- We already miss a lot in our lives. Think about it, we spend our life going to school, work, and all these mundane stuff. Well, if they're happy seeing their grandchildren when they get old or dining with their loved ones, that's good for them. But what if someone wants to do x or y, that's their own happiness. I can't judge people on what makes them happy, I can only tell them what makes me happy.

You're missing out on a lot more right now putting up with mountains of bullshit during your prime years than you'll gain not "missing out" when you're old.

The saying should read "happy spouse happy house" but no one cares about the male in the equation so you have to look out for yourself.

Ending up alone is a far worse fate than ending up with people who make you wish you were alone, especially if you enjoy your own company.
