I once snuggled up to a full-size tiger. Was a bit nerve-wracking but hey, I checked the Internet and only a few stories of attacks on tourists doing such things, yet they open daily, so relatively safe.
But tigers are smart, trainable, capable of developing affection, even obedience etc. That thing is a fucking reptile, with no upper brain or rationalizing.

You don't enter because it's safe, but because it's not. They don't call Thailand 'Dieland' for nothing... On the same trip we went on the largest "flying fox" zip line in SE Asia - because that's also scary. We also took a trip where they take you up the top of a mountain in a bus with MTBs on the roof, then you hurtle at stupid speeds back down again, via the jungle and mud tracks. Same reason - because it's NOT safe.
Now, ask yourself a real question. Why did you say 'animal abuse' instead of talking about those specific tigers, tigers which are hand-raised from birth and comfortable with people?
I'll tell you why - because you're running a script in your head, not actually thinking. A script put there by people that hate humanity, the same people that make you think 'battered women' when you run the 'domestic violence' script.

The ignorant will tell you they're 'drugged' or 'the teeth and claws are removed' or some such shit. No, they are just huge, playful, affectionate - and very deadly - cats.
They can seem a little sleepy as it's hot and like your cat at home they like to laze around in the heat. The first one I was able to pat and stroke looked pretty damn sleepy - until a member of staff waved a bobbin on a stick, then it leapt up and was having fun swatting at it, entirely alert - and then it noticed me...
It had pretty much ignored me stroking it but then decided I was interesting, so nuzzled up and stood beside me. I know enough about cats to know they consider direct eye gazing as a challenge, so looked it in the eye then casually looked away while stroking it's head and pretending my heart was wasn't thumping... The tiger pretended it couldn't hear my heart and for a moment there we were bros :)
The 2nd tiger was bigger, lazier, particularly affectionate towards one of the staff members but pretty much ignored my patting, bopping, stroking and general attention-whoring.
But the 3rd one...
Before we even reached the proper entrance I'd seen an especially large Bengal pacing back and forth, making disgruntled growling noises. It was clearly pissed off about something, or wanted to get to one of the others in a different enclosure. Dunno. Said to the person I was with "I hope they don't expect me to go in there with THAT one, lol".
Yeah, that one was next.
That was the one that reminded me that was life/death, as it was far too large for the 3 members of staff to have a chance of stopping if it decided to eat me. Also too large for me to have a hope of defending myself. It was the size of a horse and it's a humbling experience to be right next to something, no cages, wires, chains or anything else, that could crunch you and your bones in it's teeth like a snack.
Like the first one I was patting and being nice to it for a while before it took much notice of me, as the handlers were distracting it. Then for photos they moved back, so just me and the fucking huge tiger, the fucking huge and pissed off about something tiger. So like you do, I patted his ass, to be friendly.
He turned and looked straight into my eyes.
I remembered the 'don't look em in the eye' thing and promptly shut my eyes tight!
The ass under my hand moved away. So now I'm sitting there alone, with this huge, pissed off tiger, my eyes shut, no idea if it's walking away or has turned to face me or where it is. I was literally nervous to open my eyes in case it was there right in front of me, waiting to see if I'd dare open em...
Cracked one eye a bit... he was just next to me, laying at my feet like a dog. So in one of those crazy, 'get the photo of a lifetime or die trying' moments you deeply regret later, I climbed on top of the fucking thing.
He made a short, sharp "GR" noise and I hopped back off SUPER-rapidly and grinned like an idiot at the staff, hoping they got the photo during that brief moment of total terror? Instead all 3 had wide open eyes and a "WTF did he just do?" expression, and no, no photo.
They did get plenty of photos of me with my eyes closed, which they thought was hilarious :?

Dunno what narrative of yours I fit into. Maybe a concerned friend /sister? Maybe a fellow human? You're trying to paint a whole segment of the population with these broad strokes... It doesn't work though. It doesn't make it hurt less, or make the injustice go away.
I grew up being told all men are pigs and I'm so glad I met boys that taught me otherwise. I'm so glad that despite the many terrible men in my life, I was still able to meet the wonderful guys that changed my life for the better. I think most people are shallow and terrible. I try and stay away from most of them (men and women) and keep the good ones around.
Look, you can downvote me and move on with your life. You never have to think of me or this comment again. Or maybe you think about what I've said and at least some parts of it resonate with you? You, perhaps, detect a kernel of truth in here and keep an open mind. Try and remember that most of us are just people, and hope that you run into the good ones. If you walked in my shoes, you'd understand why that could sound silly to someone that grew up being wary of men. No women tried to molest me when I was seven. My godfather did though. So did that other guy that was my mom's "brother" and friend of the family. I didn't let that translate into, "all men are evil." There are so many men I know that would not molest a child or take advantage of someone in distress. Men that i love, admire, and respect.
I sincerely think it is important to remember that there are still some good people in this shitty world. Don't let your current experience taint your entire world view.
