Today I took the time to reflect on the reasons why I work. I often have to travel a long way for work, and frequently put in long hours throughout the week, as many men do. However I wanted to do some self-reflection to see if any of my sacrifices were in vain. These reflections resulted in the following clarifications:

  1. I work so that I can cover the basic costs of living
  2. I work so that I can have money to spend on myself
  3. I work so that I can save money for international travelling by myself, or ‘bro trips’
  4. I work so that I can achieve a sense of personal mastery
  5. I work so that I can grow my professional repertoire of skills
  6. I work so that I can occasionally buy gifts such as birthday presents and Christmas presents for my close family members

Thankfully, none of my money is being spent on women or dating

I was pretty satisfied with this list of reasons for why I work.
