Intelligence, just like dominance, is genetic. Just like how entrepreneurs are born, not a choice (at least consciously).

You can tell from young which individuals are Alphas, Betas or Loners. People tend to overlook early behavioural signals and think kids don't have genetic preferences at an early age. I absolutely abhor the current diagnosis for ADHD and Autism.

This being said, there is nothing wrong with being a Beta, it's the denial of an inate trait which will kill said individual, be it slowly or abruptly.

BTW I'm a Loner. What I think you're referring to are Pseudos Alphas and Betas, what I call Eggs (P-Alphas) and Jellos (P-Betas). They're basically people who display behaviour opposite of their inate traits, either to overcompensate or downplay themselves (now this is conditioning).

It's not really important unless you're dealing with intratribal dynamics or sex.

That said, I'm solidly in Beta territory in most respects and I still got laid pretty damned often when I was still looking for that. Not through the Beta strategy, but through solid game.

I think you can adopt those characteristics or behaviors you lack, but the question is, is it worth it?

It's the 80/20 every time. Looks are absolutely everything. Bottom 80% just means you had best be rich to make up for it.

I agree that hypergamy is real, but like the sliding masculine alpha/beta scale, hypergamy is subject to degrees of personal emphasis. I have anecdotally seen married and involved women be attracted to alpha-males, yet restrain from monkeybranching because they value the security and resources from their current male more than the insecurity and tingles of alpha males. The gamut runs from giving a wider, more enthusiastic smile, to affairs outside their current relationship (without the intention of leaving their current relationship). These women have their “two in the hand” and are reluctant to jump ship.

Of course, there are women who do jump ship, and those are the youngest, highest SMV women who still have the time and the looks to regroup if/when a relationship fails. Lower SMV women do not have as many options, and may value their security.

As far as alpha/beta males, there exist natural-born high SMV alphas, of course. These men are born with desireable physical and mental genetic traits, including height, body and facial characteristics, and leadership qualities. Self-aware betas May improve their SMV through hard work and achievement, particularly if they’re motivated by sex, but I haven’t seen where a beta ever reaches the same SMV as a natural alpha.

There are those who have done deep-dive statistical analysis of the alpha/beta composition (in the US and elsewhere), but I haven’t bothered to save links. In the US, natural alphas seem to run between 4 and 9 percent. The sliding scale for the rest of us seems to be difficult to quantify, having to prioritize and define the strength or weakness of various beta traits.

In the end, fathers can aspire to teach their sons by their own example, and show them examples of what achievement looks like. In my opinion, a lifelong progression towards individual achievement alleviates lots of beta hand-wringing, as achievement is largely hindered by emotional relationships with women. Once this is understood, the roadblocks of cohabitation, marriage, children, and lack of geographic mobility can be avoided, the road to achievement can be ever-travelled, and the closer to alpha SMV status “ordinary” betas can move.

In MGTOW, we realize that achievement, self-realization, and personal fulfillment is the endgame, and much of the time, that precludes emotional involvement with women.

I suspect that the alpha/beta dichotomy could best be expressed as a bi-modal distribution, with unequal peaks around 0.8 alpha (smaller) and about 0.2 alpha (larger). That is, the x-axis represents "alphaness" in some sense while the y is proportion of male population. Yes, there are "gray areas" between these peaks, but they make a relatively small percentage of the population. Normalization requires that integrating over the alpha variable from 0 to 1 yields 1, representing the entire male poplation. The equation would look something like:

P = Aexp[-(alpha - 0.8)<sup>2</sup> / sigma80 ] + Bexp[-(alph - 0.2)<sup>2</sup> /sigma20 ]

Where A & B are constants that give the height of the peaks at 0.8 and 0.2 respectively, while the sigmas are the standard deviations that give the widths of the respective peaks. To make the math easier, might want to throw in complementary theta functions for some intermediate point so that one can treat each peak separately, adding the condition that the two functions have the same value at this point for continuity and probably the first derivative does as well for smoothness.

The thing is though, even if the above represents the "true distribution" in some sense, you can still say with relative accuracy that above a certain value is alpha, while below is beta and cover the super-majority of the male population.
