Because math.

Divorce courts overwhelmingly favor women over men when it comes to custody, splitting up assets, alimony and child support.

Nearly half of marriages end in divorce, with almost 80% of divorces initiated by women.

You don't even need to be married in order to be taken in dovorce court. Common law marriage subjects you to the same court of law.

Now, with the prevelence of metoo accusations being thrown around like confetti on new years eve, and bestselling books serving as how-to-detroy-men in the workplace manuals, the reason you stay out of relationships with women is very simple:

Self-preservation. Keeping your ability to succeed and be happy.

We don't need them anymore. Because the juice is not worth the squeeze, and the most prudent advice one could get is "do not enter into any contract with anyone who would benefit by breaking the contract." That's not edgy, it's sound analysis.

Some of us just weren't built to be in a relationship. I was married almost 10 years to a good woman and we had an amicable divorce. Still, I wasn't happy because I felt trapped. All I wanted was to be free.

I enjoyed my life for a year after that, then stupidly went back into a relationship. I was happy for a while, but the pattern repeated itself, this time on a much shorter scale.

Now I've realized I can stay happy on my own as long as I find another outlet for my sexual urges.

There are several answers

1) It is way easier to focus on ones purpose if there is no "lover" in the equation. Having a partner is a dream killer in most of the case.

2) Having a LTR is playing the redpill in hardcore mode, being married in legendary mode

3) The problem is the possibility. I dont think you would trust somebody who has a loaded gun pointed right on your head, no matter if he is nice or not. Your attention is on the gun and not carrier. You only want to be far away from the person who hold the gun. This gun is the law system which is stacked against men.

4) There is a social contract where everyone is supposed to take part in society and in exchange having protection, food etc from the society. Now men and masculinity is litteraly shited on by the policies targeting only women even when these issues harm primarily men (rough sleepers) or even when there is a symmetry (partner abuse). All of this when it is not a even a push for women even when they are already advantaged. (See higher education where 60% is women and 40% men yet there affirmative action to help women because they are "not enough in STEM" while they are the majority of the biology students etc...)

The social contract with men has been broken, men dont have the protection and is even harmed by society and its little consideration for them. They don't have to fulfill the contract when the otrher party does not. Men are out

Well, for me it's experience. (For the record, I'm not edgy at all. I date; I'm just non committal, especially to cohabitation and marriage). I got cleaned out from divorce; so I'll never do that again. Years afterwards, I cleared out my head and focused on my career and hobbies. I found that I have achieved a lot more when I am not in a relationship. Relationships held me back; I'm not necessarily blaming my ex girlfriends, I just lose focus when I have someone. I become distracted by the attention a relationship requires. So, no more relationships. Dating does distract me as well, but I have more control over how I spend my time; they can't demand anything from me because I'm not committed to them, and vice versa.

I have a gf, and I consider myself mgtow.

That IS the middle way. I already have a kid, raised him up just fine, and I don't plan on having any more children.

And I don't plan on getting married or having my gf live with me. And she's fine with that. My house is paid off, and I live debt-free, and it's nice knowing that no one can take those away from me if my relationship doesn't work out.

As it stands, if my gf and I break up, we hug, shrug, and go our separate ways. No legal fees. No legal drama. Easy peasy.

Plenty of MGTOW guys have girlfriends, its just that they don't wanna get married or have have their finances involved with another person.

I think you are confusing MGTOW with incels or monks. The incel types are in r/mgtow...but this is r/mgtow2, which isn't anti-women.
