Attention is perhaps our greatest resource.

Businesses spend billions of dollars in advertising costs to grab your attention. Men, women, children, dogs, etc. feed off of attention. There are a myriad of examples I could give. The point is that everything in this world thrives on attention or decays from a lack of it. So how does this apply to the pro-individual man who intends to live in a way that serves his own best interest? Here's a little wisdom gained from my life experience so far:

My successes and failures are directly correlated to what I choose to give my attention to. In order to be successful you have to manage your attention or it can be used to enslave you. You'll be consumed by distractions if you do not choose to take possession of your own mind. This is common amongst men without purpose.

I observed that what you give your attention to becomes part of your identity. I became/experienced the essence of what I directed my awareness to most of the time. When consuming redpill content and especially reading the comments, I began absorbing the thoughts and emotions of distraught men and watched myself turn into an unproductive pessimist. This distracted me even more from my purpose because I then sought out even more like-information that reinforced all of the other negative content I was consuming. It became a vicious cycle. Do not underestimate the addicting aspect of negative information. After self-reflection, I'd ask myself is this helping me achieve my goals? A lot of the information out there simply conditions you to AVOID and not go out and conquer. Finances, fitness, spiritualty, confidence building, etc. These were the areas I wanted to improve. So what was the problem? I needed to take back control and choose carefully what I give my attention to.

Solution: I created CLEARLY DEFINED goals for myself. Not having clear goals, desires, etc. to dwell upon leaves you open to distractions.

"Functionally, a man is somewhat like a bicycle. A bicycle maintains its poise and equilibrium only so long as it's moving forward towards something."

Generating desires and goals creates a filtering mechanism as to what you will give your attention to most of the time. Make goals that excite you while simultaneously you believe that it's attainable. I've learned that our goals and desires are what should dominate our thoughts. The more I focused on what I want, the more ideas, people, and situations came into my life and helped propel me closer towards it. Your attention is valuable. You create your life experience. Do not become a drifter by letting your attention wander like a stray dog. CHOOSE. Take your power back.
