They are very different. Depending on who you ask you will get many different answers (all of them partially true). So a few points, I am assuming the MRP approved guys will elaborate further:

TRP is skewed towards younger guys and dating. There is a lot of criticism of women and a lot of emphasis on appearance and spinning plates. A bit of mens rights thrown in as well.
MRP is skewed towards older guys and fixing messed up or dead bedroom relationships. A bigger emphasis on personal responsibility, little or no focus/ criticism on what total cunts women can be. A more intelligent and worldly group (few youths and does not suffer from the lowest commin denominator issues at TRP due to older and smaller membership).

The clearest distinction is that TRP focuses more on society and getting laid, MRP on building better men and fixing relationships, they have quite different goals and different audiences.

I'm only in a few days further than you, but my understanding is this:

TRP = bang all the girls (by being the best you), settle down only when it suits your desires, and even then keep your options open and leave her when you're bored
MRP = be the best you, this is how to get your LTR/wife attracted to you again; if she still rejects you, let her go or keep raising your SMV (even if you don't intend to use it outside the marriage) and hope for the best, but be super OI because you can't change her, only yourself

The base MRP principle is 1) Improve yourself 2) Lead her to change 3) If she doesn't change, next if you cannot accept that or accept it and stop bitching about it.

The final part is much like a weighing of the scales. On one side you have all her good qualities. The other you have all her bad PLUS the unchangeable effects of divorce like being raped financially and less time with kids. For TRP, they don't have the negatives of divorce on their scale. In addition to making the decision on #3 much easier...it also enables them to completely skip 1 and 2 and simply say "I don't like what you're doing, next" even if the scenario is: "I'm a fat fuck and you won't fuck me." They don't have to improve. Someone may eventually fuck them.

MRP: Should have folded that hand but now that you're in the pot, might as well play to win.
