TL;DR New to redpill after being a major BP bitch. Wife wasn't wearing her ring during trip, I have never said/shown any emotion about it. I took mine off one day. Now she wants me to wear for a greater family/friends outing/party. Am I hurting my own cause by saying no?

I have a week longer during an extended trip where my wife and I are spending time together at her in-laws place. She hasn't been wearing her ring for awhile and I didn't give her any crap about it (at one time I would've been very passionate about it and I never took mine off - I actually thought she left hers at home). Well, one day I just took mine off and didn't put it back on.

Today we're going to a bigger family event. She noticed I wasn't wearing so she said, "Oh, and wear your ring today." I mostly shrugged it off. Maybe I should've kept silent but eventually I said, "About the ring ... I make no promises." She was pretty upset and kept asking me why. I kept responding, "I don't feel like wearing it." she was surprised and almost (tried to?) sound hurt, "There's such a feeling as not wanting to wear your ring?" When she pressed for answers, I kept it simple, "I already answered you. It's that simple." Eventually she gave excuses for not wearing her ring, like she's holding the baby and doesn't want to scratch. I said, "OK, well, when we go (back home) we can both wear our rings and I can get you a simpler one. That's a separate issue."

She continued to press but eventually gave up and left mumbling.

My question is, am I hurting my own cause here?

EDIT: So, in the end, as we got ready I made sure I was well groomed and wore the best combo of clothes I packed with me. I got a few comments from the wife, like "Daddy never dresses like this." and she asked me a few times, "Do you like shirts like that? We could get more of those." (apparently I never wear this particular button up shirt around her) I decided not to wear my ring. After her initial surprise at my appearance, she disappeared/reappeared in a dress + lipstick (not instantly of course). I wondered if that was part of her original plan. She wore her ring.

At the party/event I made a few people laugh in my wife's presence but I didn't socialize too much since I hadn't slept the previous night and I was running on empty (work). There was one case where she was making a big deal out of a discussion about checking/changing our kid's diaper and towards the end I gave her a patronizing pat and even a kiss on the forehead. It seemed to have the sort of effect I was going for. As for the effect of not wearing the ring, she may just have gotten over it. I can't discern any residual affect on her mood.

I've been pretty BP up until very recently so maybe that has stored up a buffer of resistance to her hamster picking up any new signals and I think I may just try and get through more RP material while I wait to get home so I can work on myself, rather than push things when we're at ground zero (her parents home). Thanks for all the replies.

LAST EDIT: So I've been doing a lot of thinking and reading all of the comments. Thinking about the location and situation, about my current progress going RP, and about what I ultimately want in the relationship. I'm going to start wearing my ring again. We are going out again today and I asked her, "So, are you going to wear your ring today?" She said, "Yeah, of course, I'm going to wear it from now on. I only didn't wear it before because the baby so small, etc. etc.", I said "Ok." or something similar. I know that this may seem like I'm flip flopping and maybe I am but I need to make a decision I can stick with throughout the trip. I need to work on myself more and I believe I'll make a lot more progress during "bachelor time" when I get home before she comes home after me.
