Just a point about semantics.

Many people who label themselves "feminists" are female humanists that are unaware (or aware, but used to the old term) of the connotations feminism has accrued due to its ridiculous and cruelly unjust misuses.

I, too, prefer the humanist label. But many self-identified feminists see themselves as people who strive for equal rights for all from the viewpoint of the female. Because what's more interesting an issue than your own gender's rights? So yes, there is a bias, but in the same way that MensRights is biased toward male issues. Feminism does not necessarily mean female-first, just female-focused. Like how dog owners may be knowledgeable and primarily concerned about the terrors of dog-fighting, while rabbit owners may be knowledgeable and primarily concerned about the skinning of the poor animals for coats.

Caring equally about both genders is ideal, of course, and true humanism. But lot of people get to feminism, because we are taught that women are the traditionally invisible (which I agree with, but I absolutely understand any debate on that matter), and that's as far as their interest level takes them in the whole human rights field. It's getting there, at least, and not necessarily malicious neglect of the equally-vital rights of men (but occasionally malicious neglect and lionizing of women's rights).

As for what my views are: I, equally as you, love the men in my life, get enraged about fathers not getting to see their children due to shoddy laws, Sharon Osbourne laughing about a man getting his penis cut off, and the stereotype that the men are the pedophiles, among other frightening issues.

Das end. Thanks for reading.
