I support Men's Rights because I feel that certain feminists are working against the rights of men. I work in a field that is overwhelmingly female, and some females in the industry are taking courses of action to make it exclusively female.

Feminism is an enemy to all men. Feminism is the primary reason that the Men's Rights Movement exists in the first place. Feminism has been attacking men's and father's rights for the past 4 to 5 decades, and passing sexist laws that target men. This is not the fault of some mythical "Patriarchy" as feminists love to suggest. It is the direct result of feminist actions against men.

A little of column a, a little of column b. not all feminists are working against men's rights, and I don't even think most of the ones that are are doing it with any sort of intent, I think it's just a byproduct of being hyper-focused on one side of the equation

not because I think feminism is fighting against mens rights but because men can be discriminated against for their gender and it's ignored too often by those who like to see them selves as egalitarians. Feminism is more focused on womens issues and that's fine. We are not incompatible.

There are lots wrongs that can happen to you in this society simply for being male so why not stand up and speak out against it?

Definitely the latter. I'm an MRA because there are problems unique to men which don't get much attention. I'm also a feminist, because I also believe there are problems unique to women that deserve attention.

The two movements are just two sides to the same coin. Frankly, it's hard to be one without also being the other.

The problem is that "in the trenches" of internet blogging and commenting people have this false assumption that there is a gender war where one's sides gain is necessarily the other side's loss.
