feminists are not the big bad evil

The movement is founded on the lie that men have historically oppressed women and that this needs to be compensated for. Integral to feminist mythology is the patriarchy image, the equivalent of the biblical Satan. Resulting from this mythology are some extreme activists, some of whom are very active in the movement. They preach such things as "all men are trash" and "men need to be reduced to 10% of the population."

Some say that the extremists are not real feminists, but the whole movement is based on the same mythology. It is a dangerous and foolish belief system.

Taking a disney movie as an example of women having it bad is not the best choice.

Is the main actress not always chased by some super charming, rich (except for aladin I guess lol) princ that is willing to give his life away for her?

Should young boys be thought that they are supposed to give their life away for a woman and chase her no matter what?

Anger is an emotion like others, and appears in the face od injustice.

This subreddit doesn't want to make life harder for women, it just wants to make it better for men (male suicide rates, shelters and other things you will find if you look more into the subreddit)

Are women above ridicule? So many subreddits that made fun of women were banned that all the members that came from them have settled in MRA, MGTOW2 and others.

If you truly wish to have equal rights for everyone than you could also say that you are a part of the MRA as well, we too want to fight injustices that men face (whereas I would say feminism has focused a lot more on women).

I don't even no where to begin. The angst between men's rights groups and feminist groups was initiated by feminists. They male bash men and what, we're just supposed to smile and take it? They have invaded our spaces, taken our educations, taken our jobs, taken our careers. They want to take our futures and they even remind us of it by flaunting the 'future is female". They think it will, that's why Men's Rights Groups exist to thwart their plans.

Women think they can take any man in a fight, every man desires them, that they're noble, kind, just, brave, beautiful. They've bought in to all the Disney princess bullshit. They're princess super heros. Believe all women.

Men on the other hand are to be reviled. Throw rocks at boys! Make up demeaning memes, words and phrases to belittle them. Man, this, man that. Don't trust men. In movies and TV shows men are bumbling, incompetent, immature or evil. As if that wasn't enough, the classic movies with real, believable, male heros are being erased, revised with woke female characters. Then women bitch when men wont go see the latest female lead role turd. You know why?

We can live with tough kick ass women, like in Aliens, or even the the latest iteration of Mad Max. We won't go to movies without at least one likeable male character. Why would we support something that puts men down?

Society in general gives all the breaks to women. Women get lighter sentences, win custody in almost all family courts. Tell me something, why in 2020, when women are supposed to be strong and independent, should a man have to pay alimony? See how that works? They want all the good things in life, and expect to get them. When it comes to standing up on their own, they assune a traditional female veneer. The court system is as antiquated as its ever been. It protects women and punishes men.

I have been collecting news articles about how screwed up things are in the U.K. I'm an American but the way things are progressing in the U.K., sooner or later, feminists will try to enact similar laws here.

You have no idea of the insidious nature of women. You've never been married, and had your wife cheat on you, or spend money frivolous, quit her job because she's to lazy to work. You've never worked a long work day to come home to a sink full of dirty dishes. She's been sitting on her ass all day and asks you what's for dinner? You haven't tried to have sex with your wife, the one perk you have for being married, she rebuffs you. Not nice to think about such things happening. Now you're confused - Women can't be like that? They are, and are far worse.

Hey, mister Male Feminist, this is what another feminist said to me regarding my pet peeve about being called "Privleged" by other feminists despite the fact that I've been treated very harshly by both genders, boys AND girls, when I was young:

As the society changes, as equal footing with gender and race become common, the privileged viewpoint would also improve. When you stand on equal footing with women and people of colour, when they and you have the equal opportunity, you would no longer be looked onto as "the privileged one".

Please consider the following: you are not conscious of disadvantages men face

I realize that you're a man. That's irrelevant. You are conscious of things which society has taught you to be conscious of. Please just pause for a moment and think about the truth of that statement.

You brought up Beauty and the Beast. You must know that it's an old story. And you must know that when it was written, and for many years afterwards, nobody found it offensive, not even women. Why? Well, because they weren't conscious of the unhealthy relationship it depicts.

Thanks for Feminism, you are conscious of, and on the lookout for, unhealthy relationships. That's why you are able to see it in Beauty and the Beast. So please consider this: you are not conscious of similar issue that men face, even though you're a man.

Think back to Beauty and the Beast. In the Disney version, a ten year old boy is home - his parents are not there. A crazy homeless person asks to come inside and he says "no." The crazy homeless person curses the boy for this "crime"

You remember the beginning of the movie, but have you ever thought about it that way? Can you imagine how it would be perceived if a crazy old man knocks on the door and a ten year old girl says he can't come inside, so the crazy old man curses her?? This is what I mean by consciousness. If this was done to a woman, then at the end of the movie, you would expect the crazy old man to be apprehended and put to death. But because it was done to a man, it flew right under your radar.

How about another animated movie: Shrek. What's the message that movie sends? I often see it held up as a positive message for girls, because Princess Fiona learns that she's okay just the way she is, as an ogre. You're conscious of that interpretation too, aren't you? Of course you are! You watched Shrek and you nodded right along with it - "yes!" you said "young girls need to hear this!"

But what about the message to boys? Again, the message of Shrek flew right under your radar. Is it "okay" according to the movie Shrek, for boys to be just the way they are? Well, no. Lord Farquaad is short, and that's worth of ridicule. He's not okay just the way he is. There's something wrong with him. He's short.

What about Shrek himself? Well, his value comes from his strength, from the work he does. And that's the message to boys. "If you're tall and strong, you have value."

But you weren't conscious of any of this. And you aren't conscious of many more examples that you pass by every day. You're blind to it. And that's why you have falsely concluded that "women are currently disadvantaged in many ways when compared to men" - you concluded that because you are hyper-aware of issues that affect women, and less aware of issues that affect men.

Both parties have to make sacrifices to make a relationship work. The idea that men don't deserve love if they're not perfect is one of the worst parts of feminism.

Men should be allowed to be angry and still be loved. It's insane to say otherwise because it's not going to do anything to lessen their anger. In fact, all it's going to do is make them even more angry.

Im not sure if im misunderstanding anything but to me at least, it seems like you’re creating an analogy between the film and how it correlates to our idea of the relationship men and women have, ok. You then say that the Beast’s behavior should not be held as normal, I agree so does the film. His behavior is never portrayed as something normal or okay. The film does a great job at portraying it in a negative light as it allows us to see how lonely he’s become due to his personality. Furthermore, when the town hears about how Belle is with the Beast, they literally go try to kill him, that again should prove that the film doesn’t want to normalize his behavior amongst men. Continuing with this idea, Belle only really starts to like him when he becomes more calm and less aggressive, wouldn’t this give children, especially boys, the idea that if they want a girl to like them then they should be more level headed? I’d also like to point out that Belle’s father was the one who was supposed to live with the Beast. If he went and did all the things Belle did (or even if Belle was a boy), would you still have the point of view you have or are you only making it more than what it may be because Belle is a woman? What I’m trying to do is point out that Belle’s character wasn’t only put in that position simply because she’s a woman, she was put in that position because it was one of the greatest portrayals of how much she loves her father and the type of person she is. I agree that always portraying men as abusers and women as helpless victims is bad but I don’t believe that beauty and the beast was a great film to help your case. The only negative I could really see is how it might give young girls the idea that when they meet an ill mannered man they’re attracted to, they should attempt to “fix” them. Also, my apologies for going all movie analyst on this post.

This is actually, at least in the west, provably and patently false:

In France, it's actually illegal for a man to have a paternity test done on "his" child without the mother's permission or a special, hard-to-get court order. This is one of the very few instances in the West of a crime (paternity fraud) where the victim (actual or suspected) cannot attempt to reveal the crime without being punished. It's also one of three crimes in the western world where the legal system is more likely to reward the perpetrator and punish the victim than the other way around.
In several parts of the Western world, particularly the US and UK, rape is explicitly defined in a way to preclude either male victims of female perpetrators or both male victims and female perpetrators. Even more alarmingly, Current precedent in the US is to force male rape victims to pay their female rapists child support if they sue for it, even if the victim was a child at the time the rape occured. This makes female-on-male rape the second of the "big three" crimes in the western world where the courts are more likely to punish the victim and reward the perpetrator rather than the other way around.
False accusations have become a major thing due to #MeToo. To some, they've become an easy way to get rid of competition for promotions, to others they're an easy, "guilt free" way to hide an affair. Some others, despicable monsters that they are, have even discovered that filing false rape/SA accusations is a profitable business. When the reports are found to be false, the result is always the same: the accused has their life destroyed, their family broken, and their livelihood ripped away from them. Due to the notorious stance of the UK to compensate those who file reports of rape and Spain's infamous legal system allowing women to effectively steal their partner's home from them by repeatedly filing false DV reports that the courts seemingly don't investigate before passing judgement, this is the third of the "big three" crimes.
As a failed attempt to implement gender-blind hiring in Australia revealed, the institution of gender quotas and similar practices in businesses has caused men to lose positions to women with lower credentials and less experience as early as the application stage. In some countries, women are also subject to lower standards for positions in police and fire departments, along with the armed forces. Google and the BBC also came under fire in recent years after feminist pressure forced them to do internal audits that revealed that they were paying women higher wages on average than male coworkers in the same positions with similar levels of experience.

I think i might missunderstood you at the everyone should have equal wages part. I think if someone can work better than the other she/he deserves more. Like i want to be an engineer or a programmer, if a female does the job better than give her better pay, if i do the work better give me better pay.

I agree with almost everything you say here. Even so, it is important to recognize the ways in which men are disadvantaged, to separate the fact from fiction/generalization in many feminist arguments, and to ensure that men and women have equal rights, but not necessarily be treated as the same thing.

Some men on this sub feel as though the furtherance of men’s rights vests in the constant downplaying of the plights of feminists even when those very men agree with what those feminists are saying. If men really want to make a difference then why not try to be more reasonable than the radical feminists we complain about and show women that men’s rights activists care about women as well and are willing to support things that benefit humans as a whole.
