I didn't build that system, it wasn't built for me, I have no control over social structures put in place hundreds of years ago and maintained and modified ever since. If I have a problem, it doesn't matter who caused it, because I'm the one suffering it. What does it matter to me that "some men, at some point, probably had something to do with it"? Who am I going to complain to, and where am I going to get the time machine to do that?

The vast majority of men have no power to change any of this, beyond exactly the same one person/one vote political power that any normal woman has. We didn't build this thing, we didn't buy into it, many of us don't even want to support it. So what's the point in blaming approximately 50% of society for it being this way when a) the other 50% get to vote and lobby too, and b) blaming half of society and telling it's "our" fault for having been born the same sex as some once powerful men is about as useful and pointlessly inspecific as saying "black people owned slaves, so it's not our responsibility if some black people are enslaved".

The vast majority of laws that discriminate against men are a direct result of feminist lobbying efforts and it’s government, not men that pass these laws. As a man I have no more say in what policies get passed than any woman.

Men are not government. Government is made up of a very small minority of men and women. Feminism is a strong lobby. There are more eligible women voters than men.

Fire back to those who trot this canard out with words to the effect of: "White people built a system here in The US which is at least 50% responsible for the psychic trauma that's ravaged Black America and American Indians since the days of slavery and the colonial period. Here in '22 though, we've gotten bogged down in handwringing over who started it, while devoting very little energy to discussing practical ways of uplifting those who are languishing in poverty in ghettoes and reservations throughout the nation. We're going around in similar circles, in regards to whether or not it's all men's fault:

Troubles like our highly dysfunctional family courts often robbing kids of one parent and their extended family, and a drug war which leaves The US with the highest incarceration rate in The Western World, many of these prison inmates happening to be men, are American problems that affect our civilization deleteriously. They're not gendered problems. Quibbling over who started it has no connection to actually rectifying these problems here in the present day "

It's bigot logic.

It's saying men deserve to be treated like shit because completely different men (allegedly) did bad things. This is the logic of the bigot. If anyone makes this argument then point out they are using hate movement logic.

Men built it to provide, protevt and provision for women. They could have chose to go their own way at any point.
