Coincidentally, I live right by Reaper. It's based in Denton Texas. For my entrepreneurship class at UNT, I had a 2 hour long interview with the president in his office.

(which by the way, is BAD ASS. Swords on the walls, a laid back atmosphere, and as for him; he's got a really great grip on global sales and a mind for expansion.)

As for the "sexism"... Here's how the miniatures get created.

There are freelance artists, who work with a green wax. They are all over the world, and they work on their own time, though they are loosely contracted with Reaper. They send their models in, and Reaper decides whether to buy the miniature.

If they do, it goes into production and becomes a miniature for sale. It's THAT simple. There's no "board" or committee that sits around approving them. And certainly not based on banal sales projections criteria. It's more of a "let's see if it sells" approach for most of them.

Every now and then, they get a request, which is like "Hey, that was pretty cool. Can you do something else along those lines?". And they decide to do it, or not. But it's up to them. Really, there's a lot of latitude for what they can submit, since there's no "science" on what gamers would really love to buy.

Ones that sell continue, and the others.. they go into the enormous "mold library". It's where the rubber forms get filed away for use in making the miniatures.

There is literally nothing within good taste that they won't run. Because their audience is ultimately the decider of what they should produce.

Coincidentally, a lot of the employees are self identified feminists. Many come from UNT from the Metal's department. (A famously liberal arts college) There are a lot of women who work at Reaper, and their input is valued.

This feminist is picking a fight with her own sisters, and she doesn't even know it.

If she wants to see less "skimpy" models.. well, tough. Reaper will sell what people buy. There's an interest in the "sexy" miniatures (Mostly bought by women, btw, since it usually represents THEIR character.)

But if she wanted to see more miniatures with less revealing outfits.. It's VERY simple. Make the models and send them in. Reaper is always looking for new talent, and will most certainly pay her for her time (so long as they are artistically on par with it's artistic standards), and she will see her own work in the catalogues and in shops all across the U.S. Or, she could even HIRE an art student to make it for her, and share the $$. This is really just a case of "put your money where your mouth is."

Unlike Anita Sarkeesian's whining about video games, the table top miniature market is VERY easy to break into. And I guarantee she will be a valuable member of the team in no time if her work sells as well as she thinks it should.

Something tells me that her bread in butter is more in the faux outrage department though.. since if she bothered to even talk to Reaper and share her concerns with them in a productive fashion, her sisters that work there and do this same thing every day would have told her the same thing.

Or the president himself! Just walk in and ask for an appointment; or phone in. I was a student at the college and he cleared 2 hours for me. A more generous and community minded company is hard to find!

But... she's a painter for Privateer Press, a competing miniature company..

Maybe she's just trying to drum up bad business for Reaper?

What I find funny is how almost all fiction, gaming and almost all movies deny reality to portray women in a way that feminists want them to be portrayed.

Women simply can't compete with the top athletes and fighters who are men, and so would have no place in combat, but this reality gets ignored in almost every supposedly "sexist" comic and book.
